It's a chilly January morning, and the mist is hanging heavy over the Peak District. But don't worry, my dears, a good dose of Pink Tutu magic is about to chase away those winter blues. Because let's be honest, when it comes to colour and sparkle, this TutuQueen knows how to bring the heat!🔥
This trip marks post number 8795 on www.pink-tutu.com, and as you know, darling, there's no such thing as "too much pink"! You can always have more, and every day is a chance to spread the love (and glitter, naturally). So settle in, pour yourself a cuppa (tea or pink lemonade, the choice is yours!), and let me tell you all about this exciting adventure to the North East.
But first, a little bit about me, if you please! For those of you who are just joining my fabulously pink journey, I'm Alex by day, a scientist (yes, a real scientist!) who spends my days working in a lab, testing the magical properties of different fabrics. It's actually rather fascinating – all those intricate patterns and the way they react to various elements…it's like a scientific ballet! 😉
By night, well, the magic truly takes over! I transform into Pink Tutu Sparkles, the Queen of Tutus, the Glitter Galore! It all started back in uni, when I was in the ballet club, and they had a charity event where we got to try on tutus… and bam! I was hooked. The lightness, the airy grace, the sheer PINKNESS of it all – my life was forever changed!
Of course, being a tutu-obsessed drag queen comes with its fair share of travel, and darling, I adore it! Train journeys are pure bliss – imagine all the hours you can spend catching up on the latest fashion magazines, watching the scenery whizz by, and planning out new outfits! I do have a special love for horses too, and sometimes I manage to squeeze in a ride before I head out on stage. But the true joy comes when I get to perform, meet my fellow glitter lovers, and spread the pink love to all corners of the kingdom!
Aberdeen is a city rich in history, with charming cobbled streets and grand architecture. There's something truly enchanting about the place, and I already know this is going to be a whirlwind of fun! This weekend is packed with all kinds of excitement. I have a fab show at a local cabaret, and then, wouldn't you know it, a ballet performance to attend! I can't wait to twirl among those beautiful ballerinas and revel in the artistry of dance. And then, there's always the local market, bursting with delicious local delicacies and stunning craftsmanship, perfect for adding a few quirky bits and bobs to my wardrobe. Who knows, darling, I might even find some fabulous new tutu material!
And as if that's not enough, this time I'm doing something extra special. This week, I've been working on a "Pink Tutu Project" – a fun, interactive activity where I’ll be encouraging everyone in Aberdeen to embrace their inner TutuQueen! Think pink-themed photo booths, tutu making workshops, and even a chance for lucky audience members to get a taste of "life in a tutu!" 😉
Of course, no trip is complete without some gorgeous new outfits, darling! And I am nothing if not a stickler for a fabulous wardrobe! My travel trunk is overflowing with stunning ensembles that have all been meticulously crafted with a special pinkness just for this adventure. We're talking sparkly, shimmering, sequin-covered masterpieces, my dear! (And let's not forget the feathers and boas! Those are always essential!)
