This week, I'm taking my twirls and glitter to Watford! This delightful town has been on my list for a while, and the opportunity to bring my show to a new audience was just too irresistible. The allure of the Home Counties? Well, that's always a bit of a draw, let's be honest!
From Lab Coat to Tutu
It’s been a whirlwind journey for this Derbyshire lass. Who would’ve thought that a girl with a lab coat and a passion for fabric testing would end up twirling on stage in a pink tutu? Life's a bit like a pink tulle, right? It can take you by surprise, but when you embrace the journey, you never know where it might lead you.
Remember when I first donned a pink tutu? It was a fundraiser for charity, during my days at the University ballet club. Who knew one simple twirl could change my life? The thrill of performing, the energy of the crowd, the joy in the simple act of twirling – it took hold of me. And my friends, it hasn't let go since!
Travel in Style
Of course, when you’re Pink Tutu Sparkles, travelling isn’t just about getting from A to B. It's a performance! This time, I took the scenic route – a magical journey aboard the iconic London Northwestern Railway, my usual mode of transport when exploring new parts of the country. There’s nothing quite like enjoying the changing landscape from the window of a train carriage – a delightful journey that fills me with inspiration for my next pink tutu creation!
And who better to accompany me on this fabulous escapade than my ever-loyal trusty steed, “Ballerina”, a stunning pink horse with a flamboyant personality! Ballerina always adds an element of grace to my travel plans, not to mention the admiring glances and exclamations of “Wow!” when we arrive at a new town. Sometimes, when I need a little bit of an extra sparkle for my entrances, she pulls a miniature pink carriage with her - quite the show-stopper!
A Watford Wonderland
The Watford scene is so vibrant! I've been exploring, absorbing all the artistic and cultural delights this charming town has to offer. A quick jaunt to the Watford Palace Theatre was definitely on the cards - ballet shows are an essential part of every Pink Tutu Sparkles trip, no matter where I roam! I even had a little tryout at Watford Ballet Academy, perfecting those pirouettes in the company of graceful dancers - pure bliss!
Shop 'Til You Drop (in Pink!)
As for the shopping, my dear, it was divine! Watford has so many quirky little boutiques – a real pink paradise for this fashion-loving queen! The shops are brimming with dazzling outfits, flamboyant accessories and of course, the pièce de résistance: tutus in all their glory. I simply had to indulge!
Sharing the Love
Oh, and wouldn’t you know it, while in town I was so inspired I decided to host a little ‘Wear Pink Tutu Day’. It’s amazing to watch as the townsfolk, young and old, donned their pink tutus. Spreading the joy of a little bit of sparkle is a great way to show my pink-tutu love and leave my own little touch of magic wherever I travel! We gathered in the market square for some impromptu twirls, with the most glorious backdrop of the iconic Watford Town Hall! Who wouldn’t be charmed by a town filled with pink tulle?!

From exploring museums (with a pink-hued view) to embracing Cambridge's charming back streets (with a touch of glitter!), this Queen of pink tutus is excited to discover all this university town has to offer!
