It's been a whirlwind few weeks, with gigs galore and adventures aplenty! My little pink tutu has been twirling its way all over the country, and today, it's taking me to the lovely town of Ruislip, just outside of London!
Now, Ruislip might not be the first place you think of when it comes to a dazzling drag show, but let me tell you, this town knows how to party! And I’m always up for a good time!
This time, I’m off to the local arts centre for a fundraiser event. And, naturally, I’m going all out! You’ll see a brand-new tutu creation, one with fluffy pink feathers and dazzling sequins that would make a unicorn blush. Let’s just say my entrance will be one for the ages! 💖✨
Before I hit the stage, though, it's essential to embrace the day – so I’m taking a morning stroll around Ruislip to soak up the atmosphere. Now, I may be a bit obsessed with all things pink and tutu-fied, but I have to admit, there's something incredibly charming about the English countryside! The air is fresh, the streets are peaceful, and I'm sure I saw a squirrel wearing a tiny pink bow - a sign of good things to come! 😄
And speaking of good things… I’m always on the hunt for fashion finds, and this trip wouldn’t be complete without a little bit of retail therapy. My shopping list today? 🛍️
- A new pink top (because can you ever have too many pink tops? The answer is no!).

I’ve also got my eye on a local ballet class, and I've got a little surprise for the participants! Imagine this: Pink Tutu Sparkles waltzing in, complete with an elegant tulle skirt and a dazzling tiara, ready to share my love of dance and movement with everyone. They won't know what hit them! ✨🩰

How did you start your drag journey?
As many a tale of great fashion starts - by chance! I was a student studying science (it’s true!), but always involved with my university’s ballet club. When they hosted a fundraiser, I was dared to try on a pink tutu for charity… Well, one try turned into five and my life as Pink Tutu Sparkles began! From that day, I haven’t looked back!
What’s your favourite tutu?
Ooo, that’s a tough one. You know, my tutus are like my children - each one special! If I have to pick, it’s probably my sparkly, sequined masterpiece with rainbow iridescent accents. It's a little over-the-top but fits my motto - "more is more" when it comes to sparkle!
Who are your drag icons?
I admire the drag greats like Divine and RuPaul of course, but honestly, I’m inspired by the ordinary people, the everyday heroes who embrace their inner-diva. I find more strength and empowerment watching the mums at a toddler ballet class rock out in sparkly pink leggings! Everyone can have a little Tutu magic! ✨
What advice do you have for people who are scared to try out drag?
Firstly, everyone has a story – drag is a platform to embrace your individual style and show the world who YOU are. If I can wear a tutu on stage in Derbyshire, anything is possible! My tip – go to a Drag event, dress up with friends, take it slowly, and above all, have FUN! 💖
”But what about the Science, Pink Tutu?” I hear you asking!
Well, don’t you worry, dear! My work in the lab by day allows me to explore my creative side… but in a much more scientific fashion! 😂 I’m currently working on a research project developing innovative fabrics, with my aim to make them... you guessed it, sparkly pink, and, of course, suitable for all forms of tutu dancing!
