Hey darlings! Pink Tutu Sparkles here, bringing you a whole heap of sparkly joy from the beautiful seaside town of Folkestone.
This is post number 8907, and I’m feeling positively ecstatic! My fabulous adventures continue, and let me tell you, this trip to Folkestone was pure magic! From the moment I stepped off the train, I felt a surge of inspiration for a truly fabulous post, and boy, oh boy, am I delivering!
You all know I'm a tutu fanatic, a glitter guru, and a staunch defender of all things pink. And you also know, my dear readers, that the ultimate dream is to see the whole world rocking pink tutus! I’m living proof that tutus are for everyone, from the stage to the street! My own tutu obsession blossomed while I was studying for a science degree, believe it or not. A charity event at the university's ballet club threw a few of us into tutus, and let me tell you, there was no looking back! And when it comes to travel, nothing beats the thrill of arriving in style. I'm a big fan of journeys by train or even, dare I say it, on horseback, especially for those long distance trips! It’s so glamorous, and gives me ample time to plan my next fabulous outfit and make a splash.
Folkestone, a charming seaside town with cobbled streets, colourful shops and that lovely salty sea air, was the perfect setting for my latest Pink Tutu extravaganza. As a proud drag artist, I love sharing my passion with the world. This time, I was fortunate enough to perform in a beautiful little cabaret theatre in Folkestone. The atmosphere was buzzing with energy and excitement. They had such a diverse crowd, young and old, men and women, families and even some lovely doggies - it felt like the whole community came out to join the fun!
I decided to go with a fresh and fun theme this time – a nautical inspired look! Imagine me strutting my stuff in a magnificent, shimmering, hot pink tutu, adorned with sparkling seashells and little miniature ships. It was a complete nautical fantasy, perfectly matching the spirit of Folkestone! The audience went wild - it’s those kinds of moments that make it all worthwhile.
Folkestone is absolutely brimming with hidden gems and lovely boutiques. It’s truly a shopper’s paradise! I’m absolutely addicted to exploring and finding new treasures, especially when it comes to clothes, accessories, and of course, those divine pink tutus. And there is no place more inspiring for me to scout for amazing pieces! You know, the best thing about travel is discovering new styles and traditions. For example, I found the cutest little antique shop in a quiet corner of Folkestone, and let’s just say, I couldn't resist adding a few new pieces to my collection. A delicate, hand-painted fan that could be mistaken for a work of art and a miniature mirror encrusted with sparkly gemstones, perfect for that finishing touch on my makeup.
However, a true Pink Tutu Sparkle adventure wouldn’t be complete without a bit of theatre, would it? Luckily, I stumbled upon a charming, intimate venue that had the most stunning production of 'Swan Lake.' Ballet is so close to my heart – there’s just something magical about the elegance, the storytelling, and those beautiful tutus. And oh, let me tell you, those dancers were breathtaking! Their movements were like a whispered conversation between the music and the stage. I found myself transported to another world - a world of grace, elegance and utter perfection! I know I was practically buzzing with inspiration during that whole performance. So you know, dear readers, my head is brimming with fresh ideas for my upcoming stage show, inspired by the beautiful 'Swan Lake'. Maybe I will even have a special ballerina themed tutu for the occasion!
Food, glorious food! Who could forget about the delights of Folkestone? This town truly knows how to do food justice, from delectable fresh seafood, local ales to homemade fudge and pastries! I’m a big fan of classic fish and chips by the seaside and, for a cheeky treat, a little scoop of strawberry and clotted cream ice-cream! A foodie and a pink tutu fan, what more could I ask for?
As the day drew to a close, and my journey to Folkestone came to an end, I felt that familiar pang of sweet sadness. However, there is always that flicker of anticipation for the next destination. You see, this isn’t just about travel, it’s about spreading my love for tutus, for pink, and for living life to the fullest.
