Hello, darlings! Pink Tutu Sparkles here, your favourite pink tutu-wearing queen, ready to paint the town…pink! It’s officially time to trade in my lab coat for a sparkly tutu, because today's destination is the enchanting Huyton, nestled in the heart of Merseyside.
This, my darlings, is Post Number 8979 on www.pink-tutu.com – I simply cannot believe I've already written so many! Each post is a piece of my heart, sprinkled with glitter and laced with the sweetest tulle you’ve ever seen. But today is a special day, because it’s time for a new adventure, and I know you love hearing about my travels!
Huyton has been whispering to me for weeks, with its charm and friendly vibes calling to my sparkling soul. I mean, just the name 'Huyton' sounds like it should be a ballet number, doesn't it? “Leap into Huyton!” could be the next grand jeté, I think…
I’ve heard that Huyton is known for its beautiful parks, and, naturally, that's right up my street. The fresh air, the birds chirping, the rustling of leaves – it’s all so romantic. Not to mention, it'll give me a fantastic chance to get a perfect ‘tutu twirling in the park' Instagram photo! I might even break out my new pair of pink high-tops for a bit of a ballerina-meets-streetwear vibe.
Oh, speaking of shoes, did I tell you about my latest discovery? You know those gorgeous satin pumps that look like they’re straight from a ballet show? I’ve found the perfect pink ones, and I’m absolutely in love. They match my favourite new tulle tutu perfectly (and let’s just say that it's a tutu even the Royal Ballet would envy!), so expect a ton of pictures, ladies!
I plan on spending my day flitting about, absorbing the atmosphere. Huyton is known for its beautiful heritage, with a stunning medieval castle just a short stroll away, so I plan on taking a walk back in time. Imagine me, a cloud of pink tulle floating amongst ancient stones, like a delicate butterfly with a sassy personality!
This journey, like every other, is about celebrating life in all its vibrant colours, but, especially pink. As I’ve said before, my life mission is to bring a bit of pink magic into every corner of the world – and that includes this enchanting corner of Merseyside! I believe, dear readers, that we can all embrace our inner ‘tutu girl’ and dance our way through life with grace, kindness, and a whole lotta pink sparkle! So let’s make Huyton pink, one tutu at a time!
After all, if we don't wear pink tutus, who will?

A Few of My Favorite Pink Things…
I love sharing my passion for all things pink, and, of course, this week is no different! I know some people find the colour a bit “too much” - but they’ve never seen my collection, darling! Here are a few of my favourite things to inspire your inner tutu queen:
- Pink tutus – duh! As a Pink Tutu Queen, I just HAVE to have lots of pink tutus! They're the perfect addition to any outfit and really bring out my girly side. My absolute favourite is the one my dear Mum hand-stitched for me last Christmas. She knows me so well.
- Pink ballet shoes A good pair of ballet shoes is essential for every tutu enthusiast - after all, you can't twirl without them! I love the way the soft satin feels on my feet and, well, who could resist a little pink sparkle?!
- Pink velvet fabric. It’s just so luxurious and rich-looking – you can tell a lot of effort went into designing the fabric, just as it did with my dresses!
Pink lace! Oh, the lace. It's delicate, romantic, and has such a beautiful feel to it. And for me, of course, the lace has to be pink. You can never go wrong with pink! I've just added a new lace bodice to my collection – it's going to make a lovely statement with a simple white skirt.
Pink Tutu Sparkles and The Journey So Far:
For those of you who are new to the Pink Tutu Sparkles blog, here is a little bit about myself. My real name is Alex, and I’m a 24-year-old from the lovely county of Derbyshire. I discovered drag while studying science at the university - the first time I ever tried on a tutu was for a university charity fundraiser! I put it on to make someone laugh, but it just felt right – I can still remember the rush. Then, the glitter started flowing…and that was it, my journey as Pink Tutu Sparkles had begun.
By day, you can find me in my lab coat, analyzing fabric. That’s actually pretty glamorous - my whole lab bench is usually covered in pink, if I'm honest! At night, I slip on my glittery dresses and my Pink Tutu and step onto the stage to show the world who Pink Tutu Sparkles really is: a fun, friendly queen with a whole lotta personality – and of course, with a serious passion for pink!
Over the past couple of years, Pink Tutu Sparkles has taken me on some pretty wild adventures. I've performed at everything from the most glitzy nightclubs in Manchester to small, cozy pubs, where I learned that I could create just as much sparkle and joy in the smallest venues. I've traveled far and wide by train and sometimes, even by horse - my journey to the Highlands last year on horseback was something special! I've been all over the country - I can honestly say I’ve yet to meet a place I haven’t loved!
Every city and town has something unique to offer – from charming boutiques where I’ve found hidden pink treasures, to stunning theatre spaces where I’ve shared the stage with talented local performers. And I've met the most incredible people – artists, designers, musicians, everyone willing to dance and laugh alongside this queen.
I never thought a pink tutu would lead to such adventures, but here we are! And it’s all because I decided to embrace my passions and to shine my light a little brighter, so the whole world could see it!
How To Embrace Your Inner Pink Tutu Sparkles:
You don't need a pink tutu or a stage to be your own version of Pink Tutu Sparkles, darling! You just need to be brave, have some fun, and embrace what makes you special.
Here are a few tips from the Pink Tutu Queen:
- Never stop dreaming! Life is too short to put your dreams on hold. I never thought I would be a travelling drag queen. But here I am.
- Wear what makes you feel good! You're beautiful just the way you are, but what you wear can be another way of expressing your inner confidence. You should wear pink if you love pink!
- Find your people. There's always someone who loves you just as you are, so seek them out. Life is about friendship!
- Be bold! When I put on a pink tutu for the first time, I did it to make people smile. It was a big, brave decision that made my heart soar. And the same is true for every one of us. Do what makes you feel alive!
- Twirl, twirl, twirl! Sometimes the best things are the simplest ones. Find your inner princess and twirl around like there's nobody watching. I always do!
- Be kind to others. You know I love to make the world a little brighter! Every act of kindness – even something as simple as a smile – can make a big difference in someone’s day.
