Oh, Dover, you’re a right little charmer! This #TutuQueen is practically bursting with excitement to be in the White Cliffs County! And let me tell you, it’s no easy feat getting this pink tutu-loving queen on the move – we’re talking a combination of grand railway adventures and the odd dash on a spirited steed. That’s right, folks, I’m all about a good ol’ fashioned train journey (hello, countryside scenery and a bit of chinwag) but there’s nothing quite like the wind whipping through your hair on a trusty horse to make you feel like the queen you truly are.
As ever, I’m on a mission for the pinkest of pink, the tutuiest of tutus, the most sparkly of sparkles! I simply must show the lovely folks of Dover that life in a pink tutu is life lived to the absolute fullest, and that’s why I’m performing this weekend in this sweet little coastal town. My pink heart’s skipping with joy – it’s like a whole new world of tulle awaits me here!
So how does a science-loving gal like me find herself waltzing in pink tutus across the country, you ask? It all began at that good ol’ University of Derby. Yep, me, the gal who once dreamed of breaking down the elements, suddenly had my heart set on breaking down the dance floor in a fetching pink tutu. It was for charity, I tell you! Just a wee little try-on, but my inner spark, the pink Tutu Queen Sparkles, just exploded into existence! And hey, who doesn’t love a bit of good science, a splash of pink, and the magic of dancing under the spotlight? Turns out, fabric testing is quite similar to, say, meticulously crafting the perfect pink tutu – it's all about understanding the properties of things, even if the results might look a lot different on the other end!
But back to our journey. Dover – it’s got it all, honestly. The dramatic white cliffs overlooking the Channel (imagine the scenery from my stage – absolute perfection!), the ancient castles steeped in history, the picturesque fishing harbour, and oh, those delightful, cobbled lanes! I simply must share a few photos – we can't have the whole world thinking my trip to Dover has turned into a simple seagull and chip-shop experience! Now, a little sneak peek into what my Dover adventures have in store for this queen!
- Performances galore! There’s no stopping the pink tutu magic – we’re waltzing through the weekend with shows at The Dover Marina Hotel (it’s on the water, imagine the sea breeze whipping through those beautiful tulle layers), a delightful cabaret at The Ship Inn – where you can enjoy my unique brand of sparkling dance routines and heart-warming tunes, and of course, a grand finale on Dover’s picturesque seafront stage (prepare to be dazzled, my darlings!).
Shopping for tutus and other glitzy delights. I have my eye on the sweetest little independent boutique right by Dover harbour. Think the finest selection of tulle, feathers, sequins, and everything in between. Now, tell me, wouldn't a gorgeous new tutu complete with shimmering sea-foam green feathers make the perfect seaside souvenir?
Dance class for a dose of extra grace. We all need a little reminder to let those tutus twirl and flutter now and then. I’m joining a fabulous dance class hosted by the charming "Dance with Grace" studio. It's all about elegance and a bit of whimsy, darling. Imagine me with a gaggle of sweet Dover gals, all learning to perfect that plié! Just picture it, a beautiful scene of pink tutus fluttering across the dance floor, just like my dream of bringing tutus to the whole world!

I simply must add that one of my all-time favourite pastimes, my darlings, is catching a ballet performance at a real, bona fide theatre. Dover has an absolute treasure in The Dover Town Hall. And as much as I love creating a sparkly spectacle of my own, nothing beats the classic magic of watching graceful dancers tell a story on stage. It's an evening filled with emotion, beauty, and exquisite storytelling. You really have to go if you get the chance. Oh, how I’d love to share my love for ballet with everyone here! It’s not just graceful movements and breathtaking artistry. It's about dedication, passion, and the courage to be yourself! And honestly, what better way to inspire the pink tutu revolution?
The Great Dover Harbour Challenge. Now, wouldn’t a delightful stroll around Dover Harbour make for a perfect afternoon? I’ve heard tales of colourful boats bobbing, delicious fresh seafood stalls, and even a spot of street dancing! Just the sort of exciting day a Tutu Queen like myself relishes, so I’ll be sure to document the whole thing for you!
High Tea with the locals. This is going to be a real treat, donning my favourite pastel pink outfit with matching headwear for a proper afternoon tea. We're meeting up with a delightful group of locals at "The Secret Garden Tea Room" – the pictures on their website promise the finest finger sandwiches, delicate cakes, and of course, a symphony of tea flavours! There's no better way to get a feel for Dover than chatting with the locals over steaming cups of English Breakfast (oh, and let’s be real, it will be a perfect moment for pink Tutu Queen Sparkles to make an entrance! Just imagine the delight on their faces!).
