Hello darlings! It's your girl, Pink Tutu Sparkles, here, reporting live from the glorious Lake District! Today's adventure, number 9,000, takes us to the heart of Kendal, where the annual festival, Kendal Calling, is happening, and girl, you know this tutu queen wouldn't miss it for all the glitter in the world!
Firstly, can we talk about how amazing it is to be here?! I mean, just look around at this stunning countryside. It's the perfect setting for a good old-fashioned summer festival, filled with music, laughter, and good vibes.
I'm always blown away by the amazing landscapes that England has to offer. But, just imagine, with a sprinkle of pink! Imagine these rolling hills, green and luscious, with a hint of our favourite shade popping out from under a babbling brook or behind a weathered stone wall. Doesn't it just make your heart flutter with the pure joy of pink?
This week has been an absolute whirl. We started in Derbyshire, my lovely home county, with a performance at a charity fair. Honestly, seeing those smiles on the faces of little children while I was dancing in my pink tutu? That's pure magic right there, darling. My little Tutu Ambassadors are the best!
The train ride to Kendal was just divine. My travel outfit? Obviously, a fabulous hot pink number with a train, a train on the dress not the actual railway train - that would just be confusing, darling! chuckles. This pink beauty was a perfect pairing with my trusty sparkly platform boots, and the scenery whizzing past just made me feel like I was gliding through a rainbow of magic.
I spent the ride admiring the rolling hills of Derbyshire and the patchwork countryside of Lancashire as it flowed by. My imagination just exploded with visions of giant pink lilies dotting the fields, while fluffy pink clouds danced above like cotton candy wishes. Dreams in Pink, darling!
Once in Kendal, the real magic began. I'm always surprised by the warm welcomes I get in each town and city I visit. It’s such a lovely feeling to know I can make a difference by simply being myself. As a rule, everyone is friendly - especially when I pull out my favourite, feather-boa-infused magic wand for a selfie!
I spent the evening at Kendal Calling with my amazing team, catching incredible music performances. Seeing all these people united by their love for music and fun – that's what truly makes a festival special. We danced until the wee hours and, trust me, I kept my sparkle going all night.
And for a night out under the stars, there's nothing more glamorous than the sparkling brilliance of pink! After a show-stopping performance by a rising rock band, I couldn't help but let loose with my own, slightly impromptu performance in my stunning iridescent pink tutu. Cue the music! Just a little dance, darling!
We danced all night under the festival lights, and you know what, I realised something pretty profound: The joy and magic of a pink tutu transcends any boundaries, including those pesky invisible fences that can be sometimes erected by society. Here, at the heart of this fantastic festival, with a bunch of happy music-lovers, the only thing that matters is to embrace that pure sense of happiness that comes from expressing yourself and your unique, wonderful individuality.
So here I am, nestled amongst the stunning landscape of the Lake District, feeling incredibly grateful for all the incredible experiences I get to have. Kendal Calling was absolutely sensational. It truly embodied that beautiful energy of inclusion and creativity that makes this festival so special.
But as much as I adore festivals, there is no place quite like the theater for true expression, and next on our agenda, I'm off to the West End to perform in a ballet performance of The Nutcracker. squeals That's right, darlings! This girl's been practicing at every opportunity, because, well, it just goes without saying – pink tutus and ballet were made for each other!
