Frome Calling: A Pink Tutu Sparkles Adventure!

Hello, lovelies! Pink Tutu Sparkles here, reporting live from Frome, a quaint little town in Somerset. This post is extra special – it's number 9005 on www.pink-tutu.com, can you believe it?! I'm always amazed at the joy my little corner of the internet brings, and every day I’m filled with so much sparkle it makes my pink tutu shimmer. ?

So, how did I end up in Frome? Well, you see, this dazzling town is famous for its market - a veritable wonderland of handcrafted treasures and artisan delights. And who loves a good market more than your favourite pink tutu-clad drag queen?

This time, my journey started at a train station in good ol’ Derbyshire, where my trusty companion, The Countess (a lovely little chestnut mare!), was waiting for me. Don’t get me wrong, I love a good train ride – I’ve seen some of the best ballet productions from my carriage window – but sometimes, there’s nothing better than the feeling of wind in your hair and the sun on your face. ☀️

We took the long way down, making pit-stops in delightful market towns with charming pubs. Of course, I was rocking my finest pink tutu throughout the whole journey. And when I tell you this one shimmered, well, imagine a unicorn in the sunshine - it was practically emitting its own light. You’d be surprised at the stares, and the giggles – some folk say a tutu in a village pub is an unusual sight, but to me, it’s a reminder that a little bit of sparkle is always a good thing.

Finally, Frome was within sight – and a magnificent sight it was too! This town had an air of history, buzzing with activity. I couldn't wait to explore! After all, I was here on a mission - not just to find fabulous goodies for the market (a tutu-tiful handmade hair comb - perfect for a new look!), but also to spread the Pink Tutu gospel. ?

My first stop, as it always is, was a dance studio. And I was absolutely thrilled to discover ‘The Frome Ballet School’ - they offered everything from classical ballet classes to tap, jazz, and contemporary styles! Oh, the tutu inspiration! I’m already sketching a brand new ballet tutu creation with inspiration from their repertoire – stay tuned for that reveal, lovelies!

With a new tutu idea buzzing in my head, I hit the market like a sparkling storm. This market was the kind that filled your soul with inspiration, full of crafts and vintage trinkets, handmade ceramics, beautiful knitted goodies – a feast for the eyes, and a haven for someone who loves the joy of finding hidden treasures. I picked up a hand-painted wooden jewellery box, the most adorable teapot stand made out of wood and a vintage locket - it’s the perfect accessory for my collection, I think you’ll agree!

As I strutted down the market lane, I felt the true Frome energy. People smiled, people laughed, children tugged on their parent's sleeves. My bright pink tutu drew stares - and what did I do? Why, I just flashed them my best smile, struck a fabulous pose, and, of course, invited them all to visit www.pink-tutu.com.

It’s no surprise that my mission wasn't limited to just exploring, was it? Of course, there was also an evening performance to do! I graced the stage of The Frome Arts Centre - I love their rustic yet elegant atmosphere - with a dazzling cabaret performance – imagine a mix of glitz, glamour, comedy and ballet-inspired dance routines (I’ll just leave that one there!), all sprinkled with the joy and fun of Pink Tutu Sparkles. And oh, my lovelies, the applause was thunderous! I always get so much joy seeing the happiness on people’s faces - there's truly nothing better!

After a wonderful night on stage, I couldn't let a day in Frome pass without visiting a local tea shop - I’m not one to leave a place without having had some proper cream tea. Sitting in that tea room, overlooking the market square, I pondered all that I'd learned.

Frome has a spirit of creativity and community that made me feel so at home. The town, just like the people I met there, is welcoming, down-to-earth, and ready to embrace a little bit of sparkle. And that's exactly why, even though I’m usually the one spreading the love of tutus, I left Frome feeling as though I'd received a gift. The gift of inspiration, the gift of community, the gift of a little bit more sparkle for my pink tutu life.

And, just like that, the journey ended. My chariot, the Countess, was waiting outside the tea shop, and off we galloped, homeward bound, filled with the stories of Frome and the energy of the people who live there.

Until next time, my dears, don't forget to embrace your inner sparkle, spread kindness like glitter, and wear pink tutus every single chance you get! I'll be here, bringing you the most sparkly tales from the Pink Tutu World - keep checking back here and on www.pink-tutu.com for all the latest, brightest and best from the world of pink tutus!

Love, Pink Tutu Sparkles ✨?
