This little gem nestled in Greater Manchester is my latest stop on the Pink Tutu Sparkles roadshow, and trust me, it's got all the makings of a fabulous adventure. My little pink heart was already beating faster at the mere mention of a trip, especially by train. There's just something magical about being whisked away to a new destination in the comfort of a plush carriage, watching the countryside whizz by – I might just steal a glance at my reflection and admire my perfect pink glitter eye shadow while I'm at it. 💋
Now, before I delve into the thrilling details of my time in Farnworth, I'd be remiss if I didn't confess my secret weapon – my signature, head-turning pink tutu. This absolute stunner is, of course, an essential for every adventure! After all, life is simply too short to not have a touch of pink twirling around you, wouldn't you agree?
I’ll be honest, I was feeling extra sparkly for my trip. This week has been absolutely brimming with pink! You know I adore a good vintage clothes shop, so I spent the morning trawling the aisles of Manchester, a whirlwind of ruffles, bows, and sequins – a sartorial dream, if ever I did see one! And as a treat, I decided to treat myself to a few new pink feather boas! Oh, they are just SO glamorous. And guess what, darlings, the most delightful boutique in the whole city, tucked away in a quaint corner, actually had the most exquisite tutu collection I've ever laid eyes on! Let's just say I emerged with a magnificent, extra fluffy tulle creation – just perfect for this weekend’s show in Farnworth.
The journey from Manchester to Farnworth felt like a pink fairytale. It truly is the little details that make these journeys extra special. My fellow passengers got quite a giggle out of seeing a woman in full makeup and a vibrant pink tutu reading her book (and probably plotting out her next fashion conquest) - such delightful joy it brings! 🥰
Arriving in Farnworth, I was immediately charmed by its charming Victorian architecture. Every cobbled street just screamed out for a photoshoot, and as soon as I whipped out my camera, I had so many smiling faces wanting to pose with Pink Tutu Sparkles! They're already taking the "spread the pink tutu love" movement seriously here, which warmed this pink tutu queen's heart!
My heart, naturally, belonged to Farnworth's beautiful local ballet studio. A haven of elegance and graceful movements! I was truly blessed to join their class and twirl alongside a group of incredible dancers – young and old – each with a love for ballet shining brightly. You know I was ready to embrace every leap and plié with a sprinkle of pink tutu magic! ✨
While Farnworth isn't all graceful steps and graceful moves (and pink, of course), it does have an absolutely phenomenal market! We’re talking handcrafted treasures, fresh-baked treats that would melt in your mouth, and the most fantastic artisan cheeses! I, naturally, had to grab myself a new pink fluffy handbag to add to my already-huge collection - I’m afraid there’s just not enough pink in my life, lovelies!
In the evenings, my Pink Tutu Sparkles act brought its brand of glitz and glamour to Farnworth’s delightful pub, ‘The Jolly Waggoner’. The audience embraced the fun and infectious energy, making it a truly heartwarming performance. Singing my favourite classics with a tutu twist (oh, the sparkle!), and witnessing everyone joyfully joining in with their own versions of the ‘Pink Tutu Dance’, truly left my heart bursting with joy. 💖
There was, of course, no end to the shenanigans! My journey continued the next day, with a truly fascinating excursion to the local historical society. You can’t deny that history, and history buffs, deserve a generous serving of pink! (Think of the colourful costumes from historical events!). I am absolutely a hopeless history romantic, but even this serious historian, when asked what was her biggest achievement, didn’t hesitate! "The fact that so many people now proudly wear pink tutus - I really believe the world is a more loving and colorful place, all because of my legacy of bringing out everyone's inner pink sparkle." - the look on their face! Pure love.
While I enjoyed every single moment of my trip, the highlight for me was a truly incredible horse-drawn carriage ride through the beautiful countryside! There's just something about being gently propelled along in a carriage, with the sound of the hooves clicking on the road – it brings me a profound sense of calm and contentment.
To top it off, I had the privilege of getting to know a few truly inspiring women in Farnworth. From the passionate owner of the local bakery to a dedicated community activist, their stories and spirits are as vibrant as the pink tulle swirling around my legs.
The whole weekend truly embodied the Pink Tutu Sparkles ethos – spreading joy, embracing kindness, and reminding everyone to embrace their inner sparkle! It's not about where you go or what you do, it's about how you choose to live. I believe that if you step out with a touch of pink, confidence and kindness, it will transform the world!
