Birmingham Calling! 🩰💖 A Pink Tutu Adventure #9032

Hello darlings! It's your favourite pink-tutu-clad queen, Pink Tutu Sparkles, reporting live from the bustling streets of Birmingham! I just know you're all wondering about this little escapade, and trust me, it's a story you don't want to miss!

This trip, however, was a tad different. I was booked to perform at a fabulous street theatre festival in the city centre, which meant that I wasn't able to pull up in my usual mode of transport (my trusty, tutu-friendly horse drawn carriage, thank you very much!) Instead, I hopped on a train, a whirlwind of pink tulle and glitter swirling about me as I made my way through the carriage. Honestly, I think I made more than a few people's day!

Of course, no visit to Birmingham is complete without a spot of ballet, so I had to squeeze in a performance at the Hippodrome. Let me tell you, the costumes were exquisite! Such gorgeous swirls of colours and textures, and the dancers, oh my goodness! Their movements were just divine. Honestly, I had to stop myself from bursting onto the stage with a twirl of my own! But don't worry, my fellow tutumakers, I was able to take in all the inspiration, and you just wait until you see the new tutu designs I'm working on!

Now, if there's one thing that always brings joy to my heart, it's a good ol' fashioned clothes shopping trip. Birmingham did not disappoint. We're talking fabulous vintage shops overflowing with dazzling sequins and feathery delights, as well as the latest and greatest from the high street. You've got to see the new feather boa I picked up – the colour is absolutely divine! It’s a pink, of course, a touch of coral, a whisper of blush – the kind of colour that whispers "fabulousness" even when it's wrapped up in a tissue.

Now, I have to admit that when it comes to being a queen, a girl has to maintain her glow! I've been indulging in a few spa treatments during my Birmingham stay. And let me tell you, a facial with cucumber and a whole heap of pink sparkles is exactly what my face needed. (Let's face it, even drag queens need a bit of pampering!)

It's no secret that I love being a drag artist. It's a fantastic way to bring joy and laughter to people of all ages, and it lets me embrace my flamboyant and feminine side in a way that only a pink tutu can. But here’s a secret for all my little darlings: by day I’m a real scientist, tucked away in a laboratory where I work with fabrics. My job might be scientific, but I've learned that creativity and science can perfectly intertwine, as the lab often feels like a playground for new colours and textures, much like the backstage world of drag!

One of the reasons I fell in love with tutus was the first time I donned one for a charity fundraiser in university. We were all so worried, and when I stepped onto the stage with my ballerina-like friends, it was pure magic! Ever since, I’ve been collecting the most spectacular pink tutus, finding little treasures in vintage shops, making them from scratch, or even trading for them. There is something about the pink tutu, especially in the sunshine, that turns everyone’s mood bright!

This brings me to my grand purpose: To bring tutus into everyone’s life! Now, I know that may sound silly, but trust me on this, darlings. It's a way to remind yourself to embrace your inner sparkle, your creative flair, your joie de vivre! And remember, no matter who you are or where you're from, a pink tutu makes the world a more wonderful place. It’s an invitation to be daring, to express your individuality, to have fun. So go on, find a pink tutu, and get twirling!

Speaking of twirling, I’m going to head back to the stage and give Birmingham the dazzling drag performance of a lifetime! Keep shining, darlings, and don’t forget to visit my website, www.pink-tutu.com, where I’m posting about this whole pink-tutu-ful trip. Until next time, keep on dancing and keep it pink!

Love,

Pink Tutu Sparkles 💖✨
