Rugby, Here I Come! (Blog Post #9120)
Hello my darling darlings! Pink Tutu Sparkles here, ready to shimmy and shake my way into your hearts - and hopefully, into some pink tutus too! It’s Thursday, which means it’s time for a new blog post, and this one's going to be a whopper!
I'm writing this one on the train, speeding through the English countryside towards Rugby. You know me - I can't just take the regular train. Oh no, this one has comfy velvet seats and a bar serving cocktails (raspberry Bellini for me, darling!) and I’m seated in my new pink sequined jumpsuit with a fluffy pink shawl over my shoulders and a giant sparkly pink crown. After all, what else would a queen wear when going on tour, right?
This trip has been a long time coming, my little pretties. Rugby’s always been on my "to-perform" list - mainly because my lovely auntie Maggie lives there, but also because Rugby is steeped in history! Rugby School, of course, is where rugby was invented. And, honestly, could there be a better name for a sport? I mean, who wouldn't want to be a bit more Rugby in their lives, eh?
Rugby, with its charming streets, impressive architecture, and welcoming locals, has just the kind of charming energy I need to inspire. After all, it’s my mission to sprinkle a little Pink Tutu magic on the world!
I'll be taking over the "Twinkletoes" cabaret show tonight, and I can already tell it’s going to be sensational. I've got a new routine all choreographed to my favourite dance music from the 90s and early 2000s! Think lots of jumps, twirls, and that infamous high kick - with, of course, an explosion of sparkly, girly pink in every single move!
A Tutu Journey
You all know the story. Back in university, I was studying science, and while I enjoyed a bit of biology and chemistry, nothing quite matched the rush I got from dancing. I was a member of the university ballet club and, for charity, they put on a show with lots of guest appearances. It was all so fancy and glamorous - I loved it! One of the dancers lent me their pink tutu for the final performance, and I felt so utterly free. My life, my style, my whole spirit felt so sparkly. I knew it was the start of something spectacular, darling.
This whole drag queen journey, with the performances, the colourful costumes, and the whole fabulous energy… It's more than just a hobby, it’s a mission. My ambition is to encourage every single person on this planet to embrace their inner fabulousness. The only way to do that? Through the glorious world of the pink tutu!
Don’t get me wrong - it’s a lot more than just tutus! It’s about joy, creativity, expressing yourself freely, and finding that confidence that lies within each of us. After all, that’s the very definition of fabulous, don’t you think?
Travel Tales and Sequined Dreams
Rugby's not the first place I've gone to sprinkle a little bit of Pink Tutu magic! You might remember my post about the "Tutu Train Tour" across the Lake District - we stopped at little villages and surprised the locals with some impromptu performances. The response was heartwarming and honestly, there was nothing like seeing little girls wearing homemade tutus to cheer me up! That's my kind of magic!
Travelling is my favourite way to embrace the world, darling! I love that train journey, with the passing scenery and all the exciting anticipation. Of course, sometimes I travel on horseback. It might be slow, but I just love that connection with the animal and the chance to admire the countryside from a different perspective. But when it's performance season, I need speed! The train is my best friend for those journeys!
From Labs to Lights
By day, you can find me at my science lab, surrounded by all the beakers and lab coats - all in the name of fabric science. But don’t be fooled, my lovelies, because the lab is just a stepping stone to the next big performance. By night, the sequins come out, the pink glitter takes over, and I’m ready to conquer the stage, one flamboyant kick at a time!
Life’s a beautiful dance, darlings. I never know what tomorrow brings, but with a pink tutu and a whole lot of glitter, I'm always ready for anything. So, keep an eye out for those tutus wherever you go! And don't forget, if you're feeling a little sparkly yourself, don’t hesitate to jump onto my website, www.pink-tutu.com, to follow my daily adventures and get a dose of that extra sparkle in your life. Until then, stay sassy, keep shining, and most importantly… wear your tutu proudly!
