Hello darlings! It's your girl, Pink Tutu Sparkles, signing in from the glorious, windswept city of Leith, just a stone's throw from bonnie Edinburgh. I'm bubbling over with excitement, and a whole lotta pink tulle, as I'm finally here! My journey north, a magical combination of train travel and a few trusty horse-drawn carriages, brought me to this incredible location, buzzing with history and charm.
Leith's a true gem, tucked right by the coast and steeped in a rich maritime history. It's got a captivating old-world vibe, cobbled streets leading to majestic architecture and harbour views that make the heart sing! But more than the history, it's the sheer vibrancy that drew me here. I’m a big fan of ‘out there' performance, and with a creative energy just bursting from every corner, Leith seemed tailor-made for Pink Tutu Sparkles!
As I'm sure you know, I love me a good old fashioned train journey, something about the gentle rumble and the rhythmic clicking of the wheels just melts my stress away. Especially when I'm decked out in a particularly glorious pink tulle number, looking like a blooming ballerina ready to twirl across the countryside. The journey was extra special thanks to the delightful fellow travellers, who just couldn’t help but grin when I gracefully shimmied past, tutu swishing with every move! I love being a source of joy for folks – it's all part of spreading the Tutu Love!
Leith is a whirlwind of colourful art installations, vibrant murals that tell stories in every brushstroke, and captivating street performances that ignite my own performance bug. My very own ballet-inspired street act went down a treat with the locals - it's wonderful watching the sparkle in people’s eyes when I give them a glimpse of the tutu magic. You see, everyone’s a little bit magical, all it takes is a good old fashioned twirl and a pinch of pink tulle!
Yesterday, I had the absolute honour of performing for the children at Leith Links. Their laughter was contagious, and I can't even begin to describe the joy in their eyes when they saw their favourite pink-tutu clad fairy making her grand entrance. We played a bit of tutu-inspired games, did a few twirls and some sparkly ballet moves. One little girl even donned a tiny tutu (made by yours truly!), and the delight on her face warmed my heart. It was pure magic!
Speaking of magic, I am utterly besotted with the stunning theatre scene in Leith. Last night, I treated myself to an enchanting performance at the Leith Theatre, watching a delightful ballet that had me swooning, giggling and twirling along in my seat. They even had a "tutu dress-up" after party where all the ballet fans donned tutus in a kaleidoscope of pink, lilac, and champagne shades - talk about a perfect ending!
One of the things I love most about this magical city are the wonderful local designers and boutiques, bursting with all sorts of delightful treasures! It's practically a fashion paradise. You bet your sequins I've been going wild in the vintage boutiques, discovering one-off gems that I can’t wait to wear in my next show. You can always find pink tutu inspiration around every corner in this city, and I’m snapping up as much pink tulle as I can fit in my suitcases, that's for sure!
You see, I’m all about spreading that sweet, sweet pink tutu joy! A bit of sparkle and twirling can really brighten even the dullest of days, wouldn’t you say? As a budding scientist, it all comes back to those little things we find in life that just fill us with a joyous burst of wonder! A pinch of pink and a sprinkle of glitter - that’s my recipe for a happy world!
I must tell you, my trip to Leith is a perfect combination of a beautiful city, incredible sights, fantastic performances and of course, plenty of pink tulle! I wouldn’t have it any other way!
