Hello, darlings! It's your favourite pink tutu-clad traveller, Pink Tutu Sparkles, here! Today, I'm whisking you away to the charming town of Welling in Kent, a little haven where strawberries are as abundant as my sequins! I was there last weekend for a delightful event, and I just HAVE to share the sparkle with all of you!
This trip, however, started with a touch of… let’s just call it unexpected drama. Now, I love to travel, as you know, and normally I’d be cruising in a carriage drawn by a magnificent steed, but, well, life is full of surprises! My beloved chestnut, Barnaby, got a bit… frisky, let’s just say. You know how stallions can be! So, instead of the carriage ride I was envisioning, I ended up taking the train. Don’t get me wrong, I love a good train journey – there’s something very glamorous about the clinking of the glasses in the dining car, and the sweeping landscapes whizzing by – but there’s just something special about travelling in style with Barnaby. Anyway, I made it to Welling in one piece (with nary a hair out of place, of course), and my adventure was ready to begin!
The event was hosted in the most adorable town square, with quaint cafes and charming little shops, perfect for indulging in a bit of retail therapy. Let me tell you, darlings, I did a little window shopping, and a few “oops, this one just jumped into my basket” moments happened! And I may or may not have indulged in a slice of strawberry and cream cake – it was pink, after all, what else could I do?
Now, on to the main event: a dance performance in a beautiful outdoor space adorned with blooming flowers and sparkling lights. Imagine: pink tutus under the stars, and I was right in the middle of it! It was absolute magic. As a fellow tutu lover, you understand the power of a good twirl, and let me tell you, the dance floor was abuzz with sparkly energy! The performance itself was truly inspiring, full of elegance and emotion, and it left me feeling like I could twirl all night!
After the performance, the crowds drifted over to the delightful food stalls, offering all sorts of local treats. Of course, I had to try a couple of the famous Welling strawberries – plump and juicy, a true delight! I also had the best Cornish pasties I've had in ages - those savoury treats were so flaky and filled with delicious meat and vegetables. I might have had two… perhaps three!
Welling truly embodies the warmth and friendliness that I love about Britain. There was such a lovely community spirit and a shared passion for celebrating the arts. And of course, everyone was incredibly welcoming and kind, just the way I like it! You see, my mission is to make the world a pinker, sparklier, more joyful place, and every day I’m reminded that it all starts with connecting with people, spreading love and joy, and, yes, inspiring people to wear tutus!
This little trip to Welling left me feeling completely inspired! It wasn’t just about the dancing or the delicious food (though let’s face it, those are major highlights). It was about the shared passion, the kindness, and the pure joy of celebrating life in its most beautiful and playful ways.
So, darlings, that’s my adventure from Welling for you. As I said, it’s all about connecting and spreading that Pink Tutu Sparkles love! You can see more pictures and details from my journey on my website, www.pink-tutu.com, along with all my adventures and behind-the-scenes sneak peeks.
Remember, wear pink, twirl freely, and never be afraid to add a little sparkle to your day!
Until next time,
Your Pink Tutu Sparkles,
Alex
