Hello my darlings! It’s your girl, Pink Tutu Sparkles, here! This is post number 9300, and I’m absolutely buzzing to be bringing you all a glimpse of my latest adventures, straight from the magical city of Belfast!
If you know me, you know I can't resist a good ol’ fashioned train journey, especially when it leads to a destination as full of history and charm as Belfast! I bid farewell to Derbyshire and its rolling green hills, a wave of excitement washing over me as I settled into my seat, the rhythmic clatter of the rails acting as my personal symphony. And you just know I had my trusty travel bag in tow, packed to the brim with not just the usual essentials, but also some special, super-sparkly items I'll unveil for my Belfast performance!
Speaking of which, oh darlings, the excitement for tonight’s show is palpable! I'll be gracing the stage at The Grand Opera House - a venue that oozes grandeur and a history that just makes me feel all fuzzy inside. You can't tell me that performing in a theatre where legends like Charlie Chaplin graced the boards isn't magical!
I can't wait to sashay in my new costume – think cascading pink tulle, shimmering silver sequins, and enough feathers to rival a peacock in his finest plumage! Trust me, this performance will have you saying, “She’s so fabulous, she should have a show!” – spoiler alert, I do, honey!
Now, Belfast has been calling my name for quite some time! Its bustling streets, buzzing nightlife, and, dare I say it, impeccable taste, have made me a real Belfast-lover – especially the iconic Harland & Wolff cranes! What better way to take in the sights than a scenic ride on the famous Belfast city tour bus, right? A true queen of pink, you know I’m going to capture all those gorgeous city shots for Instagram – stay tuned for all the #PinkTutuBelfast adventures!
Honestly, my darlings, my trip to Belfast isn’t all glitz and glam. Sure, there's a show tonight, but before that, I had the absolute pleasure of visiting the Linen Hall Library. Did you know it's home to the oldest public library in Ireland? Talk about a history lesson – I swear, it felt like I was walking back in time! And then there's the Belfast Botanic Gardens. Can we talk about the flowers?! They’re in full bloom, a vibrant tapestry of colours and fragrances – and, of course, I made sure to pose by the iconic palm house for my blog post, looking my fabulous self, wearing, of course, my signature pink tutu, complete with some shimmering butterfly wings (because, darling, what's a trip to the Botanic Gardens without a touch of whimsical flair, am I right?)
And, because my travels wouldn't be complete without a touch of cultural exploration, I made a quick pit stop at the Ulster Museum. I swear, there's something truly captivating about stepping into these spaces filled with history and artifacts. This visit, though, had a deeper meaning: I'm writing my new play, “Tutus and Tradition,” and I've been absorbing inspiration from Belfast's rich past. You know me, darlings, a girl always needs to inject a bit of inspiration into her life, and what better source than an age-old museum, wouldn’t you say?
And of course, the trip wouldn’t be complete without a stop at a Belfast craft shop. Who says the Queen of Pink Tutu Sparkle can’t appreciate a good bit of hand-crafted creativity? Not this gal! So, I snagged the cutest handmade pink feather boa - trust me, it's going to make an appearance in my next video - and some beautiful Celtic knot earrings. Let's be real, honey, a girl always needs some sparkling extras to go with her signature pink tutu. And as an added bonus, the friendly lady in the shop gave me a beautiful linen scarf - perfect for adding a touch of Belfast elegance to my daytime wardrobe. Now, let me tell you, the feeling of acquiring those beautifully handmade bits and pieces left me buzzing!
By the way, speaking of buzzing… Belfast, it's a food haven for sure! My sweet tooth is utterly spoilt here! Don't get me started on the delectable pastries, freshly baked and filled with sugary delights at every turn! Let me tell you, honey, the apple tart I had yesterday, was a work of art. And as if by divine design, I stumbled upon the most delightful vegan cake shop on my journey. Let's just say that pink tutu is already getting ready for its second helping! And trust me, when it comes to sustenance, this Pink Tutu Sparkle needs the energy to power her incredible stage performances, and I know Belfast can fuel me just fine!
This journey, my loves, has shown me that Belfast, with its captivating charm, warm atmosphere, and infectious energy, is an absolute haven for a fashion-loving pink-tutu queen like myself. It has all the ingredients of a fab adventure, topped off with an irresistible sprinkle of Irish charm – now, who wouldn’t be delighted by that?
Speaking of which, I can't wait to tell you all about my performance at The Grand Opera House tomorrow! My darlings, trust me, it’s going to be truly epic, a glorious mix of dazzling costumes, electrifying performances, and just plain fun! Don’t miss the next post for a full breakdown of the event!
Stay pink, my dears,
Pink Tutu Sparkle, xx

P.P.S. As a scientist in the day, I can assure you, there are a lot of fabrics I'd love to put in a pink tutu - from linen, which is the oldest surviving textile fibre, all the way through to silk. Maybe in future blog posts I'll share my scientific knowledge about the history of fabrics as well.
