Hey darlings! Your favourite pink-tutu-wearing queen, Pink Tutu Sparkles, is back with another fabulously fabulous travel blog post! I’m absolutely bursting with excitement, because today marks the start of my thrilling trip to Edmonton! It feels like a lifetime since I've last been on a train journey – well, actually, just 48 hours – but as always, I'm fully prepped for my adventure in my latest, oh-so-fabulous outfit. This time I've opted for a soft, pastel pink tutu with a touch of sparkle – perfect for a city full of cultural wonder. I can just imagine the dazzling city lights reflected in its tulle!
Remember how I mentioned my passion for ballet? Well, Edmonton’s ballet scene is legendary, darling! So I simply couldn't resist the chance to see a show at the exquisite Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium – just the mention of 'Jubilee' gives me a twinkle in my eye! I’ve booked front-row seats, ready to immerse myself in the breathtaking grace of the dancers. I’m positively beside myself with anticipation, thinking of the tutus, the elegant choreography, and those beautiful, flowing movements. I may even steal a few tips – my dance moves could use some refinement!
And oh, the outfits! Have you ever seen so many amazing ensembles in one place? You simply must check out the vibrant and eclectic stores of Edmonton. It's a veritable wonderland of sparkles and glamour! And of course, my trusty notebook is out, ready to jot down all the best outfit inspiration – you know I just have to get you lovely lot on board the pink tutu bandwagon. We'll be the most glamorous, twirly gang around!
Before we dive headfirst into the world of tutus, sequins, and vibrant colours, allow me to take a little walk down memory lane. Do you remember those sweet and sentimental stories I shared about my journey to embracing my inner queen? How my fascination with tutus began during my university days while studying, gasp…science! I remember those initial, nervous, steps – I’d borrowed a tutu for a university charity event, and as I twirled, my inner queen began to shine through. Now, years later, I stand on a platform, a kaleidoscope of lights cascading upon me, a radiant beacon of pink joy, bringing joy to audiences across the globe.
This journey has been an incredible one. I’ve had the honour of performing for audiences across the UK, travelling by train, by horse… sometimes even on a plane! It was certainly an exciting moment, but you have to understand – trains and horses are much more aligned with my elegant and whimsical spirit. But let's not get ahead of ourselves, darlings, the best is yet to come!
Now, let’s hop back to our thrilling adventure in Edmonton. You know me, I couldn’t possibly come to this beautiful city without experiencing its magical horse-drawn carriages – oh, the romanticism! Just imagine, gliding through the streets, a fairytale unfolding before our eyes. I’m hoping for a romantic ride as the sun dips low, bathing the city in golden hues. It would be positively picture-perfect! The scent of wildflowers, the sound of hooves on cobblestone, and the gentle sway of the carriage... just picture it! I simply can’t wait!
Speaking of romance, we're just beginning our exploration, but already, this captivating city is whisking me off my feet! The enchanting charm, the delightful shops, the vibrant energy – oh, it’s enough to turn any drab, old Tuesday into a day filled with sparkle!
As the sun dips below the horizon, the twinkling lights of the city transform into a captivating tapestry, casting a dazzling glow over Edmonton. What a day! But we've only just begun, darlings! We have so many more fantastic experiences to explore, including a whirlwind visit to the captivating Whyte Avenue, home to street performances, artistic gems, and perhaps a glimpse of a dazzling drag show or two. Now that I think of it, who would be better suited for that challenge than myself, the Queen of Tutu, Pink Tutu Sparkles?! 😉 Oh, darling, we simply must make this a memorable journey!
Now, I know what you're thinking – my little darlings – it’s high time we address the elephant in the room. We must talk about Edmonton's most exquisite treat: Edmonton's renowned doughnut scene! Just picture this, darlings, warm, fresh, sugar-dusted doughnuts - a delightful concoction of pure sugary goodness, waiting to be devoured! My darling, you haven’t experienced pure, untainted joy until you’ve tasted a local favourite like Doughnut Delight or Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory – if it's good enough for a Queen, it's good enough for all! And, trust me, those sprinkles... oh, they’re heavenly!

Just as my first trip to Edmonton is ending, a wave of sentiment washes over me – but I know this won't be my last visit, it simply couldn't be!
