Hello my darlings, It's Pink Tutu Sparkles here, and I'm buzzing because, well, it's finally time for Wellingborough! I can't wait to sashay into town and sparkle your little socks off!
Honestly, you guys, this trip has been a whirlwind of excitement and a little bit of panic – because who else books a journey on a horse? Laughs! Don’t worry, the ride to Wellingborough was nothing short of a dream! Just imagine: The sun kissing my face, the wind whipping through my pink tulle (don’t worry, I never take off the tutu, even for riding), and a magnificent chestnut mare, named Poppy, beneath me. Oh, the feeling of freedom, it’s just pure bliss! Of course, there's a story behind this…
I'm a girl who loves to make an entrance, you know that, and it all began while I was preparing for a drag performance in Northampton. It wasn't just any show – it was the grand final of the county’s biggest drag competition! The stakes were high, the outfits were fierce, and I wanted to wow the crowd.
Now, when it comes to costumes, you all know I'm a bit of a princess when it comes to pink tutus. They just give me a feeling of complete confidence, you know, a "sparkly confidence" if you will! So, after browsing online for hours – I had to make sure it was the perfect tutu for this competition – I stumbled upon a fantastic place called The Riding Stable, right in Northampton! The woman who runs the place, she’s just a lovely woman. Her passion for horses is just infectious. We were chatting about her riding horses and that got me thinking - "Why not ride in on a horse?"
Now, my darlings, it didn't just magically happen. There were weeks of intense training at the Riding Stable. And, yes, there were spills, tears (from my make-up, darling!) and endless giggles – but we eventually mastered the skill! I don’t want to get your hopes up, though. It’s not a regular thing. You need to pick the right time and horse to get things right, and, my darlings, Poppy, she’s very particular!
But hey, I achieved my dream. I rode a horse straight into the final performance – wearing my biggest, sparkliest tutu! It didn’t exactly go as planned, it involved an accidental spin with my legs in the air! Thankfully, the crowd loved it and it definitely made a great show of it. And guess what? *Laughs! * I won that competition! You could say the judges were charmed, literally.
The rest, as they say, is history! This led to more adventurous performances: I’ve galloped into carnivals, done a drag show in a horse drawn carriage and even had the best ride ever – a tour around the Derwent Valley, home to the best Derbyshire pubs and fantastic Derbyshire oatcakes (don’t tell everyone I said that - we all have our secret culinary guilty pleasures!).
Anyway, enough about my antics. You’re here for Wellingborough, darling!
The Wonderful World of Wellingborough!I have a few special events planned for my Wellingborough adventures:
Firstly: You won't want to miss my grand arrival! Think pink, think glamour, think fabulous - and a surprise, a huge surprise for my arrival in town, I’ve got the best one for you! This will be at The Clock Tower, you can't miss it - everyone will be talking about it for months. You might say I have the “Pink Power" of surprise! Winks!
Secondly: Wellingborough is, after all, a hub for all things creative, you can’t ignore that. It’s time for a “Tutu Tastic” performance in the beautiful Park Street Park. This will be a fantastic dance routine in collaboration with the local dance studio, The Dance Studio Wellingborough, we’ll be putting on a performance filled with all the “sparkly confidence" of a tutu. The event promises to be fun for the whole family! Imagine pink tutus twirling, laughter echoing through the park, and just a dash of glitter and magic. There’s so much happening on this day. I think you’ll be shocked! Smiles mysteriously
Finally, there's a very special day planned for Wellingborough - The “Wellingborough Festival”, now that is an event you will all want to be at, I’ve got a new tutu just for it! Laughs. There's so much going on at this festival - so much live music, food stalls, games for all ages - and, yes, you guessed it, the amazing "Pink Tutu Sparkles." We're going to wrap up the Festival in style with a fabulous "Pinktastic” performance - guaranteed to leave you giggling and in awe!
Wellingborough, I've got something special in store for you!
A Tutu for Every TasteMy darlings, there’s a pink tutu for every occasion - be it a dance performance, a street party or just a visit to the library. If you ask me, wearing a tutu is a way of saying "Hey, world, I'm here and I’m ready to celebrate!"
It’s that touch of playful, fabulous charm that everyone needs. I've been collecting tutus since university - it’s truly my passion! I mean, remember when I was studying for a science degree and took up ballet for the first time. My university club charity fundraiser event came up – the annual Tutu Tastic event, I put on a pink tutu and the rest is history! Now you know my story, darling!
Since then, I've built a collection of tutus. Honestly, they take up almost an entire room in my apartment, and let me tell you, you'd need a magnifying glass to see any surface in my flat. I am that obsessed, honestly! From the super fluffy tulle that twirls in the breeze to the sleek, shimmering ones that catch the stage lights, and all the ones in between - there is truly a tutu for everyone.
I've met so many amazing people through my "Tutu Movement". One of my biggest inspirations was actually a school teacher in Wellingborough who started wearing a pink tutu for a week of lessons and raised enough money for a new reading nook for her class! Now, I love that.
Honestly, when you wear a tutu, you open up a whole new world of playful fashion!
My Tutu Tip of the Day!You can take this tip back with you to Wellingborough!
When I travel and buy new tutus - which is so often, you know that! - I look out for special "tutu accessories". I have a special drawer full of sparkles, bows, sequins, even flowers - everything you need to transform a basic tutu into a breathtaking creation! It's all about the little details. And believe me, those tiny additions can make all the difference. It can take your everyday outfit to something truly “Pink-tastic”. And the best part about it all is the satisfaction when people compliment you. "You look so cute" - "That tutu really brings you together" - "Where did you get it, it’s fab!". And those words make the whole world of glitter and pink, so worth it, darling!
What’s Happening with Pink-Tutu.comAnd my darling followers, if you’re enjoying the “sparkly confidence" then join me on Pink-Tutu.com, it’s my drag blog where I post everything from makeup tutorials to fashion tips to funny travel anecdotes and much more! So, darling, I'll see you all at Wellingborough, where we will create our own sparkling pink haven of happiness. I have an idea. On the night of the main performance, let’s make this happen. When I call, take a deep breath and shout: “PINK!” I know Wellingborough has been known for its great community, and I want to make sure we all “Pink” with pride!
Until next time, Keep Sparking!
