Hello darlings, it’s Pink Tutu Sparkles, ready to bring a splash of pink to your Monday! This is blog post number 9698 – that’s 9698 days of spreading the pink tutu love! Who knew a girl with a science degree could be so fabulously dramatic, right? Well, here I am, living the dream, with my favourite tutu, the Sparklelicious Twinkle Toes tutu in my luggage, ready to take Kirkby by storm!
Kirkby's calling, and my tutu’s practically bouncing in excitement. It’s a magical mix of anticipation and nervous jitters, like the feeling just before the curtain rises. Oh, the things we do for a passion, eh? Let me tell you, after a day in the lab testing fabric (because yes, darling, even Pink Tutu Sparkles has a day job, it’s all about balance), there’s nothing better than slipping into a tutu and sparkling like a Christmas bauble!
Now, let's rewind a bit, shall we?
This trip to Kirkby started with a whisper of a rumour: A big, dazzling, rainbow-coloured fair with live music and an audience ready for a performance! Honestly, it’s the type of event that gets my feathers ruffled in the best possible way, like when a sparrow fluffs its wings before taking flight! A fair? A chance to perform? Yes please, I’m a sparkly, pink tutu-wearing drag queen!
This time, I’m making a grand entrance – a train journey to Kirkby, just like royalty, minus the crown, though a tiara never hurts, right? The gentle chug-chug of the train and the fleeting views of the English countryside just make me want to sing (a little louder, darling). It’s the perfect journey for a glamorous girl with a big, sparkly dream, wouldn't you agree?
Now, before I embark on my sparkly adventures, let's talk about the Kirkby ensemble! I can't let you guys into my full performance outfit, I need to keep that secret for the fans, but I’m going to give you a peek. Think shimmering pink satin, a tutu bursting with iridescent pink sequins, a cloud of pale pink tulle for that princess-in-training look, and… a hint of glitter? Let’s just say the whole ensemble will sparkle in the sun!
To complete this dazzling look, I’ll be donning a pair of pink, bedazzled ballet flats. These are no ordinary ballet flats, they were purchased from a boutique with a beautiful lady named Fiona who had the biggest collection of shoes you can imagine! When I saw them I had to have them - bright pink with sparkling crystals, so divine. The perfect fit for the day!
Remember, dear friends, I'm all about spreading joy. Even if it means bringing the magic of pink tutus to Kirkby. After all, a touch of sparkle, some vibrant pink and a few fancy flourishes go a long way, wouldn’t you say?
Right now, my luggage is packed with a mix of excitement, glittery surprises, and a whole lot of love. My travel essentials? Let me tell you! My tutu, my hairspray, my makeup kit and… the key ingredient – pink lemonade! It keeps me energised and bright. The scent just brings me right back to a ballet studio on a sunny summer afternoon!
My Kirkby adventures await! Remember, every single day is an opportunity to wear a pink tutu. It’s all about celebrating who we are and showing the world our vibrant personalities. So let's raise our glasses of pink lemonade (or tea for the afternoon ladies!) and wish me luck on my performance in Kirkby! Don't forget to catch the show!
Stay sparkly, Pink Tutu Sparkles xxxxx
And that, my lovely friends, was a glimpse of my whirlwind day in Kirkby! But it wasn't all sparkle and tutus, let me tell you, it was also a mix of exciting adventures and hilarious moments, things that happen only when Pink Tutu Sparkles hits the road! Let's break it down, shall we?
Firstly, the train journey. I am not the type to just sit in a corner, so naturally, I had to make it fabulous! You know me, pink hair bow? Check! Rhinestone-encrusted makeup bag? Check! But my absolute favourite part? Talking to all the sweet people who looked curious and intrigued about the sparkling being that was me.
One lovely elderly lady named Margaret even wanted to see my tutu. “Are you a dancer?” she asked, with such kind eyes and genuine curiosity. "I was in a ballet show when I was a girl,” she continued, as her eyes glistened with a beautiful sort of memory, “but I can't dance anymore.” I told her that ballet was beautiful at any age and everyone should have a tutu! Her face lit up. “Oh darling,” she whispered, "it makes me think I should have just bought a tutu anyway, that’s such a great idea!” Margaret really seemed happy to know that it was OK to be joyful and wear pink tutus regardless of age. That’s what makes me most proud, being able to spread the happiness and fun!
Now, arriving in Kirkby, the real magic started! This fair wasn’t just any fair. This fair had a unique kind of charm and vibrancy, you know, the sort you find when the air buzzes with laughter, the smells of hot food linger deliciously and music dances in your heart. They welcomed Pink Tutu Sparkles with open arms and laughter! People were genuinely thrilled to see the colourful spectacle and they loved to be photographed with me. This is the true essence of what I aim for in my performances, to connect with people and spread a little joy.
The fair was a rainbow explosion! My senses were overwhelmed with the sights, the sounds and the scents! My sparkly outfit seemed to blend seamlessly into this bright wonderland, which, of course, is a very good thing in my book!
But the highlight of the day had to be my performance. The stage lights felt like a warm embrace, the crowd was vibrant and cheering for the dazzling girl in the pink tutu. Oh, those smiles in the crowd - it felt like a giant party, a celebration of the human spirit. It is what we live for, you know, that instant of joy when we bring a smile to someone's face, that instant when our differences melt away and our love for life blossoms in a wave of joyous acceptance! That's what I live for and what Pink Tutu Sparkles was designed for, and we delivered.
Afterwards, everyone wanted their picture with me. The children were captivated, some were shy but loved the spectacle, parents laughed along with them and then they'd pull out their phones and smile as I posed for selfies with them! Honestly, how could one possibly resist this kind of charm! And it made my day. There are some beautiful souls out there in this world!
And I knew then, as I gathered my sparkly belongings, I'd be back. Maybe next time with my brand new turquoise tutu. Or the magenta one, still under construction...
Stay vibrant!
