Welling Whirlwind: Tutu Adventures Number 9715!

Hello darlings! Pink Tutu Sparkles here, back from a whirlwind trip to Welling and bursting with tutu-tastic tales to tell. You know how I adore a good train journey, so I was practically skipping down the platform as I boarded the Southeastern service to Welling. The views were dreamy, and I swear, a flock of pink-feathered birds flew by – such a lucky omen!

As soon as I arrived in Welling, I felt a delightful sense of adventure. It’s not the biggest town, but it's bursting with charm, and of course, it's home to a wonderful theatre, the Broadway Theatre, where I had a chance to do what I do best: make some sparkle and spread a little bit of Pink Tutu magic.

My stage show this week was inspired by the town's name. Think "Welling" but instead of just well, welling up with tears, imagine welling up with sparkle, sass and fabulous pink tutu joy! My costume, a dazzling confection of hot pink tulle with feathers, sparkles, and some extra-long fringe, was a real showstopper. The whole thing just shimmied and shook with every twirl! You might even say, I brought some Welling' out of the crowd! ?

And who doesn’t love a bit of vintage flair? While I’m on the road, I try to fit in some shopping for vintage bits and bobs, you know, a sparkly clip here, a vintage hat there – everything I need for a fabulous costume. Welling didn't disappoint! I stumbled upon the most delightful little vintage boutique called "Timeless Treasures", filled with fabulous trinkets and hidden treasures, perfect for dressing up a queen or finding that perfect accessory.

And did I mention food?! This whole trip had a bit of a "Mad Hatter's Tea Party" theme going on. I stumbled upon a truly magical bakery, aptly named "Sweet Dreams." They had the most delicious macarons, all in pink, naturally, which went perfectly with my fabulous afternoon tea of delicate finger sandwiches and dainty cupcakes.

Of course, no visit to a new place is complete without experiencing the local culture. So, I hit the Welling Ballet School, a hidden gem I stumbled upon after chatting with a local resident. She told me that they are renowned for their incredibly talented students. And you know what, she was right! I was welcomed with open arms by the director, a lovely woman with a passion for dance. She was amazed by my tulle-filled, pink-loving passion and invited me to join a session.

It felt so good to get back in the studio, even if just for a couple of hours. I can never resist a good plié or pirouette, and the students at Welling Ballet School really were exceptional. They even took a cue from my sparkling costumes and sprinkled a touch of glitter into their performance. It was inspiring, and you know I had to share it with all my darlings on my Instagram - #WellingBalletSchool!

You know what's also amazing about traveling? It always seems to spark my own creativity, and this week, I can't wait to get back into the studio and choreograph a brand new piece for my upcoming shows. Who knows what will inspire me this time, but you can be sure it will involve pink tulle, some incredible choreography, and plenty of sparkles!

While in Welling, I also took the chance to see a fabulous community theatre show. It was a production of "The Sound of Music", and while it may have been set in Austria, the whole thing made me feel a deep connection to the beautiful community spirit of Welling! I think every community theatre deserves its own spotlight - you always get such a unique, heartwarming performance and its amazing to see the hard work of such talented performers!

Of course, my journey through Welling would be incomplete without a trip to their amazing market, a whimsical collection of vendors and artisans all selling their wonderful creations, many perfect for my wardrobe, and some ideal gifts for my fellow tutu enthusiasts!

The trip to Welling has truly been a whirlwind! I left with a tutu-filled heart and pockets filled with inspiration! The town has given me a wealth of experiences, and that makes this whole Welling adventure all the more special.

You can join me next week as I make my way to... [enter new place]! I'm keeping you all guessing but it is somewhere you might need your comfy shoes to explore every hidden nook and cranny - and what could be better than comfy shoes? That's right, fabulous pink tutus! Don't forget to #TutuQueen! See you there, darlings!

Until next time, Pink Tutu Sparkles ?
