Helloooo darlings! Pink Tutu Sparkles here, your resident tutu enthusiast, and welcome to post number 9799 on www.pink-tutu.com! I’m absolutely buzzing because today, we’re heading to the delightful town of Upminster in Essex! ✨
You know I love a good adventure, and this trip is particularly exciting because I'm taking the train! I'm a massive train buff, the clattering rhythm and the whizzing scenery always gets me feeling fabulous. Plus, it gives me a chance to dress up my pinkest outfit, a sequinned jacket with a vibrant fuschia feather boa and my signature, absolutely ginormous pink tutu – let’s just say the other commuters had their eyes glued to the window. ?
But darling, the true reason I'm here in Upminster is a double whammy: an absolutely smashing drag show in the evening and, gasp – a ballet class in the afternoon! I'm always thrilled when my love for dance and drag converge. Let's just say my glitter and tutus are going to be extra sparkly today! ✨?
Now, you know I love me a bit of retail therapy. This morning, before heading to the station, I treated myself to some delightful vintage treasures from a charming little boutique in Derby. I snagged the most divine emerald green velvet bolero with a matching beret! It's perfect for pairing with my glittery tutus – the juxtaposition just oozes sophistication!
The train journey was simply magical, I got lost in a good old-fashioned novel. You know, the kind with romance, intrigue and a handsome hero – always a good thing to fuel the drama of a show, wouldn't you agree?
But alas, time to swap the romance for reality! We’ve arrived at the beautiful Upminster train station and…drum roll…. time for the ballet class! Oh, I do adore the elegance of ballet. I’ve always loved watching the graceful ballerinas dance and recently, I took the plunge and signed up for classes. You know, life's about pushing boundaries! And I must say, the tutus at the class are rather fetching. While they may not match the scale of my personal collection (and by scale, darling, I mean a whole wall of pink loveliness), they definitely bring a smile to my face!
After a grueling (yet glamorous) workout, it's time to glam up! Back in the hotel, I’m transforming my dressing table into a theatrical stage, laying out my most radiant pink lip gloss and my shimmering eyeshadow. My drag bag is packed with sparkles and sequins ready for a dazzling performance later.
Speaking of the show, tonight’s venue is the absolutely fabulously named “The Rainbow Ballroom.” I can’t tell you how much I adore the name – it screams flamboyant fun! I hear they’ve got a proper old-fashioned, glitzy, silver dancefloor. This is exactly what I need to work up a sweat! And of course, it’s the perfect setting to show everyone just why they should join me on the pink tutu train!
Later this evening, you can catch me dazzling on stage. This show will be bursting with glitter, camp, and a whole lot of sassy energy. My signature dance routine involves a lot of twirling, because, you know me, I adore the movement and it showcases my darling, darling pink tutus perfectly! I’ll be performing a couple of my most loved numbers: a dramatic performance of "I Will Survive", channeling all the sass of the fabulous Gloria Gaynor, and a hilarious comedy routine to "Don’t Go Breaking My Heart" – just wait until you see the sparkly hotpants!
The show is about more than just sequins and tutus though, darlings. It's about expressing yourself, being brave and having a bit of fun! It’s about sharing that positive energy and getting everyone to embrace the joy of living! Oh, and I think everyone deserves to wear a pink tutu at least once in their lives!
