Ciao bella! It's your favourite pink-tutu-clad queen, Pink Tutu Sparkles, here, and I'm bursting with excitement to tell you all about my fab trip to Milan! You know I can't resist a little adventure, and this trip was a real whirlwind of tutus, tutus, and even more tutus!
Now, let's rewind a bit. Remember my last post where I was oh-so-excited about my latest project, "Every Body In Pink Tutu"? Well, I was delighted when I got a call to perform in Milan, which is one of the top fashion capitals of the world! And you know what? They actually loved my idea! My mission to make tutus everyone's fashion choice is on track!
I flew in yesterday - I've decided to travel by plane this time. The last time I was on a plane, I thought it would be a laugh to wear a tutu and do some fancy footwork for the passengers. Let's just say the airline staff didn't find it quite as amusing! Thankfully, this flight was rather less chaotic and I arrived in Milan feeling refreshed and ready for the adventure that awaited.
Milan is such a vibrant city, with all its fabulous architecture and trendy shops. The air feels different here, full of inspiration and creativity. And my darling, let's not forget the food! The pizza! The gelato! My inner gourmand is positively squealing.
The first stop on my Milan adventure was, of course, the Teatro alla Scala. Imagine, darling! It's the famous opera house, filled with history and glamour, the centrepiece of a stunning square, with incredible chandeliers! My heart nearly burst with excitement! I was lucky enough to get tickets to a performance of "Swan Lake," a favourite ballet of mine since I was a little girl!
You might remember, darlings, I studied for a science degree back in Derbyshire before becoming Pink Tutu Sparkles. I remember trying on a tutu for a charity event at the university's ballet club. It was that moment that everything changed! Who would've thought, that in between mixing beakers of chemicals, I'd discover a calling in life that could involve both glitter and a passion for the beautiful world of ballet? By day I analyse fabrics in my science lab and by night I twirl on stage with my fabulous sequined self.
This was my first trip to a ballet house in years! Even watching from the audience I got such a thrill watching those talented dancers gliding effortlessly across the stage. Those ballerinas were truly incredible, like ethereal figures in their beautiful tutus, twirling and leaping with such grace. You see, it’s more than just a skirt, my dears. It's about feeling powerful, graceful, and joyful - a message I’m aiming to spread all over the world!
My trip to the theatre sparked such a thrill, I couldn't resist popping into a ballet studio for a little dance class. It was absolutely delightful to be surrounded by others who share the same love of dance as me. And of course, I wore my favourite pink tutu for the class. There was an undeniable look of appreciation on the instructor's face. Maybe, darling, this could be a new Pink Tutu Sparkles project – maybe “Pink Tutu In Class”? The world just needs a dose of tutus!
Speaking of "needs", darling, I needed to find a suitable ensemble for tonight's show! The venue is hosting a fundraiser for a local dance school – just my style! Of course, the outfit has to be utterly fabulous – think cascading ruffles, feather boas, and maybe even a few sparkles sprinkled in for good measure! My fabulous seamstress in Derby is an absolute whiz with sewing, so, I’ll be in Milan’s best stores searching for fabric. The best part? It’s always much easier to be creative and try out new fashion styles in Milan! It's just bursting with creative inspiration!
I can’t wait for tonight's performance, my dears. I’ve been working on a brand new routine for a local music, a fabulous track with lots of pep and pizazz. I hope they are ready to get their groove on with the fabulous Pink Tutu Sparkles! It's a very fast paced routine but I’m determined to bring them into the world of tutu fashion, one dance step at a time. Let's hope the tutus help with the fundraising!
