Hello darlings! It’s your favourite pink tutu-clad drag queen, Pink Tutu Sparkles, ready to spill the glitter on my latest escapade! Today’s adventure takes us to the bonnie city of Aberdeen, and trust me, this city is a right corker!
Remember my aim, my darlings? To get everyone wearing a pink tutu, and trust me, I’m well on my way! Aberdeen's streets have been buzzing with pink tutus lately, with even the pigeons trying to squeeze into one! Now that's dedication to the cause, isn't it?
Travelling in Style
First things first, let's talk about getting to Aberdeen. I’ve been travelling around the UK spreading my pink tutu message, but it's not just the travel destinations that make a journey fabulous - it's the way you get there!
You know I have a love affair with trains, and I managed to snag myself a lovely first-class ticket. Oh, the luxury! But wouldn’t you know it, a whole family decided to join me in the carriage. Now, I love a good gossip, and these lovely ladies were a real hoot! They even helped me choose the perfect shade of pink eyeshadow for my first performance in Aberdeen - it was a right riot!
Then again, sometimes it’s about a grand adventure! Aberdeen was a little way off from my last performance, so I booked myself a spot on the most amazing horse-drawn carriage ride. What's better than gliding through the countryside, feeling the breeze in your hair, and getting those fantastic "aww-look-at-the-tutu" smiles?
Aberdeen: Where Beauty Meets Fun!
Oh, Aberdeen is just delightful! Think charming streets, historic architecture, and enough stunning views to make you speechless - just try to keep your eyes on the road when driving, darling, it’s too tempting to get distracted by the scenery. And while you're mesmerised by the grandeur, don't forget about the pubs, cafes, and independent shops scattered across the city. Every corner you turn reveals a hidden treasure waiting to be discovered!
The highlight for me, though, had to be visiting the Aberdeen Art Gallery! You might think this isn't a typical drag queen’s destination, but hold your horses! Not only does the building look incredible – it has this majestic beauty that takes my breath away – the art is just spectacular! Every painting seemed to be dancing in its own pink tutu!
But it wasn’t just the art that had me feeling inspired. There was this fascinating display about the history of the region, and I was totally glued to every word. You'd think my heart belonged only to tutus and fashion, but those tales of adventure and hardship brought me right back to Derbyshire.
Dancing with the Stars
Remember, I mentioned Aberdeen was buzzing with tutus, but the city already had a passion for dance, darling. The Aberdeen Ballet School is famous throughout the UK, and of course, my tutu-loving heart had to visit! It was an absolute dream come true, the kind of fairytale setting straight out of your favourite ballet story.
I sat down for a ballet class with the little ones, a giggle fest that made my whole week! Let’s just say the future of ballet is looking bright, they've got all the skills to make even a pink tutu ballerina jealous.
But you know me, it wasn’t all graceful swans and fluttering pirouettes! I took to the stage of The Music Hall (another impressive piece of architecture, if I do say so myself!) and gave everyone a performance they’ll never forget, even if they’ve got amnesia.
My audience had me in stitches, it's amazing how a simple sparkly pink tutu can make even the shyest person want to dance. It really reminded me why I started this whole adventure, to spread joy and sparkle in the world, one pink tutu at a time!
Shopping Spree: From Balmoral to Tilly
Oh darling, no trip to Aberdeen is complete without a little retail therapy! I don’t know if you've been, but it’s truly a shopping haven, just overflowing with the kind of stylish finds that would make a Parisian boutique jealous.
We spent hours browsing the stalls at the Balmoral Market - you name it, they’ve got it! Vintage clothing, handmade jewellery, the latest in high fashion... I couldn’t leave without getting myself a few new pink tutu-tastic outfits!
Then there's Tilly Street, the heart of Aberdeen’s shopping district! And trust me, it lives up to its reputation! So much choice! It’s all the boutique shops and designer names, you name it they’ve got it! From a pink glitter sequined waistcoat for myself to a fabulous tiara for the show, this trip was shopping goals.
Eating My Way Through Aberdeen
You know me, darlings. When it comes to food, I'm a true connoisseur of everything delicious! We couldn’t leave without indulging in the local specialties – oh, how they had my tummy tickled! From the classic Aberdeen fish and chips with the best chips in Scotland (just try them – you won’t regret it), to haggis with neeps and tatties (definitely try it if you've never had it – I promise you'll be amazed by the flavour, the history of the dish will surprise you). The delicious desserts had me swooning too. I mean, you've got to try a taste of local flavour when you’re on the road!
But the thing that made Aberdeen so special? Well, it was the atmosphere! Everyone I met, from shop assistants to street musicians, was so kind, helpful, and just bursting with fun. They really made this city feel like home!

Aberdeen will be a city that lives on in my memories, the people were fabulous and I loved the places. Now, if only every street in the world was this colourful and inviting...
