Hey darlings! It's your girl, Pink Tutu Sparkles, back with another fabulous post from www.pink-tutu.com! I'm in the most charming city of Oxford today, ready to bring a dash of pink tulle to this historic gem! And I have to tell you, even Oxford is feeling the sparkle!
This week I took a train trip, you know, the slow, picturesque, vintage carriages that let you soak in the scenery – totally my style! I'm telling you, travelling by train in England is an experience all its own. It's a journey where the destination is just as exciting as the arrival! And as I drifted past rolling green hills, I couldn't help but daydream about how I could incorporate some of this charming countryside into my next look – imagine a floral tutu with delicate ivy tendrils crawling up the fabric!
My adventures started as I stepped off the train and was welcomed by Oxford's quintessential cobbled streets. A true blend of historic and modern, you've got towering Gothic buildings whispering stories of centuries past, right beside trendy independent shops brimming with the latest fashion.
Now, you might be surprised, but Oxford is practically bursting with amazing shops – truly a haven for any fashion-forward diva like me! I had to snatch up a beautiful vintage coat at a charming boutique. The shop owner even had a fabulously curated selection of pink and purple fabrics, enough to inspire ten tutus! (And we know, we all need more tutus, don't we?).
Of course, my day wasn't just about shopping (although who could resist?!) - I had a grand tour of the glorious Bodleian Library, which literally makes you feel like you've stepped right into a Hogwarts scene! Just imagine all the magical stories waiting to be uncovered amidst those shelves and shelves of ancient texts – truly spellbinding!
This afternoon, I caught a performance at the Oxford Playhouse. A modern ballet piece with bold colours, dynamic moves, and some stunning tutus – truly inspirational! After the show, I had a wonderful time chatting with the dancers, discussing their training, and even finding out how they sourced those amazing costumes – can you believe I found a supplier of recycled fabric used in the costumes? More eco-friendly tutus, just what we need!
Tonight, I'm taking a stroll through the heart of Oxford – Christ Church Meadows, where I'll be trying out a few dance moves. Who knows, maybe I'll inspire some spontaneous ballet on the meadow!
Speaking of dance moves, I was absolutely delighted to discover a quaint ballet studio in the heart of town, called the 'Oxford Dance Academy' (which just sounds positively magical, don't you think?!) The instructors were amazing - full of passion and grace. They gave me some amazing tips and insights into perfecting my pirouette and grand jeté - I can't wait to add some more polish to my drag routines!
The fun doesn't end there! Tomorrow, I'm heading to the Ashmolean Museum. Have you ever heard of it? They have a fabulous exhibition about 19th century fashion! The anticipation is killing me!
And of course, the main purpose of my trip? You know it - spreading the gospel of pink tutus! From my hotel room to the bustling market, I've been spreading joy with my vibrant tutu creations. I've even met a couple of local dancers who are obsessed with tutus too! Turns out, they're hosting a free open-air performance this weekend - with plenty of tutus, I'm sure!
You know me - always on the lookout for exciting collaborations! And let's be honest, Oxford just screams tutu potential! What if I collaborated with local artists to create a "pink tutu" mural on one of the historical walls? Imagine!
And don't forget, if you're ever in the UK, Oxford is absolutely worth a visit!
But even if you're not travelling this week, I still want you to share your pink tutu moments with me! What's the most fabulous thing you've worn a pink tutu for? Let me know in the comments, or even better, share your photo on my website – #PinkTutuLove!
Keep shining bright, my darlings! Until next time, remember to wear pink, sparkle hard, and never stop dreaming!
With love and glitter,
Pink Tutu Sparkles xoxo
