Well, hello my darlings! It's your girl, Pink Tutu Sparkles, signing in from Rotherham, a charming little town in South Yorkshire, for a fabulous post-Christmas jaunt! I know, I know, I promised a post on my New Year's Eve performance, but darling, my dear, the thrill of travel has completely swept me away!
This week, my train ride took me right through the heart of the English countryside. Honestly, the scenery was so beautiful it would have made even the grumpiest Grinch melt! I'm starting to feel like I could write an entire novel just about the beautiful views I see while zipping around in my favourite carriage, tucked in a cosy corner, sipping tea from a bone china mug.
Speaking of travel, remember my "Pink Tutu Challenge" that I've been pushing all year? Well, Rotherham is proving to be a most wonderful town for spreading my gospel of fabulousness. Imagine, if you will, arriving in a town for the first time, in full drag glory, a massive pink tutu billowing behind you, only to see all these adorable locals staring in awe and excitement! It's magic, darling! Truly, magic!
Now, Rotherham, for all its lovely charm, didn't exactly boast a roaring scene for a drag queen with my, let's say, particular sartorial leanings. But, I didn't let that deter me, did I? I spent my morning browsing the charming boutiques, hoping to find something sparkly to add to my outfit. You know how much I adore finding new pieces to add to my wardrobe, especially in the post-Christmas sales, when the shops are full of all the glorious bargains!
Then, my darlings, something miraculous happened! I found the perfect venue for my show tonight. It's this lovely old-world theatre, tucked away in a cobbled courtyard. The manager was a darling man, so warm and welcoming, and he just loved my idea to add a little Pink Tutu magic to the space. And I know, I know, the only thing better than performing on stage is watching people have fun watching me, and knowing that I'm inspiring them to wear pink, or just generally add a little sparkle to their life!
Talking about sparkles, I found the perfect new piece to wear during my Rotherham show. I just had to share it with you! It’s a stunning vintage sequined bolero with fringe, that I’m planning to pair with a lovely cherry blossom coloured silk skirt and, of course, a fluffy pink tulle tutu that tickles my ankles! Just think how delightful it’s going to be! The performance starts at 8 PM, and I can’t wait! (I think I've promised myself that if I get a roaring applause, I'm gonna whip out my glitter cannons! Let's hope the audience is ready to get glittered!)
Anyway, I must away now, as I’ve got some pre-show hair and make-up to attend to. I’ll keep you updated on the evening, and, oh! Just think, tomorrow I’ll be setting off on a new journey! Who knows where I’ll find myself, what new faces I’ll meet, or who’ll be lucky enough to share a piece of my magic.
