Walsall, We're Here! (Post #9897)

Hello darlings! Pink Tutu Sparkles here, bringing you all the fabulousness from the heart of the West Midlands, Walsall! The train journey was simply delightful, filled with the usual colourful chatter of fellow travellers, a surprising amount of fellow pink tutu enthusiasts (a trend I'm LOVING!) and even a few admiring glances from the conductors - never underestimate the power of a well-placed feather boa, my dears.

I just adore getting out and about, and a trip to Walsall has long been on my list of "places to bring the sparkle". Walsall is steeped in history, it's known for its Victorian architecture, its beautiful canal network, and for the most fabulous reason - it's also home to the "Grand Theatre" which has just been given a major revamp - I couldn't wait to step inside!

As ever, my packing strategy was meticulously executed: enough glitter to dazzle a diamond mine, feathers lighter than a butterfly's wing, and naturally, a rainbow assortment of pink tutus - one for every mood! After all, my dear, a Pink Tutu Sparkles show isn't a Pink Tutu Sparkles show without the pink tutu! It's my trademark, the essence of my fabulousness.

The journey was a journey of discovery! I popped into the "Walsall Museum" and learned about the local shoemakers. It's mind boggling to think of how many boots and shoes they produced - and I must confess, I had a teensy moment of yearning to get a sneak peek into those amazing leatherworking shops. Sadly, it's only a memory of times past now but my, wouldn't it be fun to dress up in a tutu and wander those dusty old shoemakers' workshops. Maybe a collaboration for my next performance - "Pink Tutu Shoemaker?" ? Now that's a thought for later!

Tonight I’m hitting the “Grand Theatre,” Walsall’s iconic performing arts space. My first time performing here! Can you believe it?! The staff here have been SO friendly and helpful, it feels like home already - so glamorous! I am getting excited about all the gorgeous performances I’ll be able to watch at this place, I simply can't wait to dance alongside these talented folk. I wonder if they do "Pink Tutu Wednesdays"? Now that would be a fabulous way to add to the stage!

In the meantime, before my grand performance, I'm spending the day as a tourist - the Walsall Arboretum is calling! I'm already imagining the delightful contrast of my sparkly pink tulle against the lush green leaves. ?✨ There is nothing like strolling around beautiful natural beauty, in a fabulous outfit of course - the Arboretum seems the perfect place to get those "pink-tutu-in-nature" shots that have been calling for their closeup. Maybe a selfie with a duck?! ? I do love me some animal encounters, it's the reason I've started getting into “Horse Dressage” - such beautiful creatures and a stunning backdrop for my pink tutus, I highly recommend giving it a go, it's been fantastic!

This post is already bursting with excitement, but I promise to keep you all updated on my adventures! Follow my socials, follow my website, join the Pink Tutu revolution! The world is a pink, tulle-infused, joyously sparkly place! You know what I like to say, darling, every day is a tutu day! ?✨

*In case you're new to my blog - a little bit about your favourite Pink Tutu Sparkles! *

I'm Alex, a scientist by day, Pink Tutu Sparkles by night! The world of fabrics, weaves, and sequins are a real source of inspiration - that love of color and form is what inspires me in the lab as it does on stage. You wouldn’t believe how often I’ve been tempted to sneak some sparkle onto some test tubes! ? It’s been my journey so far to balance the lab and the stage, my two worlds of science and the glittering stage, and I truly believe the combination gives my performance a touch of originality.

But let's be honest, this all started with a pink tutu ! You see, my real passion for pink tulle started as a uni student. My local ballet club was doing a fundraising performance and I tried on a tutu for the first time - I was hooked. The rest as they say is, well, sparkling history. My fellow club members were amazing. You never quite forget a room full of enthusiastic ballerinas! And while the experience might have seemed quite unusual for a science student, I'm so grateful it happened!

I've always loved travelling by train, horse (as much as I dare!) or by whatever means, so that makes touring as Pink Tutu Sparkles even more fun. The train always seems a great way to bump into other fellow travellers, a few of whom are beginning to dress up too! My latest motto is: Make the world more pink! If you see me in town, give me a wave - a wave of pink sparkles. I love meeting new people and sharing the magic!

Keep it glamorous and stay pink, dearies! ?

**Love,

Pink Tutu Sparkles ✨**
