Bootle, Baby! ??? Post Number 9937

Hiya darlings! It's your favourite pink-tutu-clad, glitter-bomb, fabulousness-spreader, Pink Tutu Sparkles, back again with another update from the sparkly world of tutus, trains and… erm… well, tutus mostly. Today, I'm buzzing from Bootle, which might not sound like a glamorous destination, but believe me, it's where I had an absolute ball! ✨

As you know, I live by the motto "Pink is the answer, and if you don't know the question, then just wear a tutu!" So, imagine my delight when I landed a gig at the Bootle Town Hall. I love finding a venue that's truly unique - think grand ballrooms with chandeliers and staircases, old churches transformed into funky nightclubs, you know? A bit of history and glitz adds a touch of whimsy. The Bootle Town Hall, bless its cotton socks, definitely has that quirky charm going for it.

Getting there was half the fun. This week I decided to travel like a proper Victorian lady - via steam train! I mean, who needs planes, right? A lovely old steam engine with a whiff of coal and the clattering of wheels against the tracks is simply divine. Besides, there's a reason it's called a carriage. It’s basically a mobile dressing room, especially with all the sequins I had crammed into my suitcase! Imagine my dilemma, darlings! Do I carry my tutus with the proper clothes on a garment rail, or fold them neatly into my travel suitcase like the civilised individual I claim to be? ? Let’s just say, the tutu’s fabric is far more delicate than I imagined, so they got a carriage seat of their own for this trip!

Bootle itself is a curious little town. Just the kind of place where you find charming hidden treasures and characters you won't forget in a hurry. I was lucky to meet a charming chap in a local vintage shop, who just had to show me the "most beautiful piece of silk he'd ever laid eyes on!" After what felt like an hour (but was really only a good 5 minutes), I was convinced it was the perfect fabric to add to my ever-growing collection. Of course, a tutu was being born. So much for keeping to the itinerary, lol!

The show in Bootle was a hoot! It's so refreshing to perform in smaller towns, I get to chat to so many new people, share my love of tutus and make them giggle with my routines. I mean, a proper giggle that comes from the tummy. Like they've just eaten a bag of candy floss!

As always, I love to combine my love for ballet with a touch of theatrical flare. This week I decided to do my own take on “Swan Lake”. I added a bit of “Sparkles" to that "White Swan" choreography (it's like you can't even imagine!). Just a sprinkle of glitter, you know! The crowd just loved it! In fact, there was a little girl sitting in the front row with a pink tutu on! It really did make my day. The little angel even called out "Tutu Queen!" to the stage. This made me realise that even at such a young age, they were aware of their love of tutus. Such brilliant minds! It’s this enthusiasm, my darlings, that keeps me going. My aim is to spread that infectious love for pink, sparkly tutus across the whole wide world! And honestly, it feels like I'm getting closer with each performance!

Before you head off, remember, if you are lucky enough to visit a place like Bootle (or even, heaven forbid, somewhere dull like… cough cough insert your dull place name), try to find your own hidden gems and, of course, embrace the wonder of wearing a pink tutu! That's what life is all about. Spreading love, laughter, and a sprinkle of sequins. It’s the simple things that matter! Until next time, remember... it's a tutu-tastic world out there, my darlings!

Lots of love and sparkles,

Extra Stuff!

This Week's Tutu Style ?✨

If you haven’t caught the latest addition to my online store at www.pink-tutu.com, let me tell you, I'm obsessed with my new collection called ‘Sparkle-Bling-Boho’! This month I’m all about hand-stitched embroidery with pearl bead accents for my bespoke tutus and all my sparkly costumes.

It's all a little "flower power" in a super sophisticated way - think floral embellishment in a dusky pink with subtle pops of black. You can get your hands on this stunning creation by contacting my manager at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. And they do have some amazing sparkly new fabric in stock for next season, I’ve got my eye on some new, glitzy, lavender-inspired outfits for a few dates in the diary! So keep an eye out!

Alex's Side - A Behind The Scenes Glimpse ?

Hello darlings, it's me, Alex, back for another unfiltered glimpse behind the sparkle. Did I tell you how much I enjoy wearing fabric to work? Oh wait, you mean you probably didn’t ask. But, I'm the Scientist in charge of fabrics at the company. So much glamour eh?

Anyway, sometimes it’s super cool - like when we get samples of new waterproof and tear-resistant fabrics for new mountain wear! But, mostly, I am dreaming about how to get the perfect sparkly, fluffy and soft fabric to make my dream tutu. Now, this dream tutu isn’t for a drag show (don't get me wrong, I love those too! But) - no! I'm talking the ultimate "fairy" dress - imagine

A dress that will float on air, maybe like a giant, dreamy feather? You could have wings... the kind of dress that catches the sunlight! That’s what I dream about at night after my performances. If you have any fabric ideas (especially if you have any "magical, shimmering" fabrics that you'd be willing to part with) let me know - by email of course! Because as soon as you go “sparkle" - I become super-private (don't worry, we can’t be having fans coming after my scientific creations - even though they might make me rich). So email to my manager. Yes! This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

And then there’s… ballet!

Last week I got my fancy new ballet shoes, they are black leather suede with little pointy-toey bows on top (of course!). We got them at this wonderful store DancingFeet, the one on Smith Street near the station. They even gave me a discount for wearing the pink tutu! It was fantastic, they loved it. Oh, darling - I almost forgot to mention the ballet class. They're brilliant. All these super elegant, slim ladies! Honestly, I can’t help thinking of “Sparkle" dancing around the room with her giant tutus - everyone's staring. Even our little cat (his name’s Pinkerton!) gets excited and runs around like he is flying. I mean he doesn’t fly - because, duh, he's a cat and they have paws not wings... oh wait, how much space is in the tutu?! ?

Maybe we'll bring him along sometime, maybe Pinkerton should try it out! Maybe he could even be my "starring cat " performer. Yes, Pinkerton on stage, imagine! We'll call the act... ”The Pink Tutu And The Flying Feline!” Now that would be memorable wouldn’t it?!

Right then! The boss has just walked in the door (we need to start our working day now - my boss does get a little cross if we’re late! Don’t you think this place is great! The boss does like wearing sparkly clothes too, and I'm not even going to tell you what they are - well I can tell you they are super comfy and the best thing, the cat doesn’t mind sitting on the fabric all day - and don't worry, it is completely washable! (even the pink ones).

Until next time, darlings, stay sparkling, and remember, even science can be… tutu-rific! ??
