Hello my fabulous darlings! It's your Pink Tutu Sparkles, back again for blog post number 9980! ? This week, I've been whisked away on a magical adventure to the beautiful seaside town of Great Yarmouth, and let me tell you, it's a proper pink tutu dream!
From the moment I hopped aboard the train (always a fabulous mode of transport, especially when rocking a statement pink tutu!) I knew I was in for a treat. Great Yarmouth just exudes a playful, nostalgic charm. Think candy floss skies, seaside amusement rides, and the sweet scent of freshly cooked fish and chips wafting through the air - all ingredients for a spectacularly pink tutu-tastic adventure!
First stop: the beach, naturally! Now, I don't mean to be a drama queen (although I definitely am in drag, haha!), but that sand was like powdered sugar! I practically had to bounce along the beach in my fluffy, pink tutu, just so I wouldn't sink in! Thankfully, it was a scorcher, so after my beachside promenade, I grabbed some ice cream from a stall selling those bright pink, swirling masterpieces - they were the perfect pairing for my tutu!
Now, every true pink tutu connoisseur knows that a visit to the theatre is essential for any truly magical journey. So, off I trotted to the wonderfully grand Royal Theatre in the heart of the town. The show was "A Midsummer Night's Dream" and I nearly squealed with delight when I saw the fairies dancing with tutus, albeit white, but they had the spirit of a Pink Tutu Sparkles at heart, for sure!
After the show, I met the loveliest chap in the town square, he was even sporting a little pink feather boa! He was a real sweetheart, a retired gentleman named Derek who owned a shop overflowing with beautiful vintage fabrics. Imagine, all those colourful materials to imagine your perfect Pink Tutu Sparkles creation with! I had to grab some vibrant pink lace, because, you know, every queen needs a little pink lace to sprinkle into their life.
And speaking of sparkle, Great Yarmouth has been a literal twinkle-filled treat! They have a vibrant pier packed with flashing lights and joyous sounds, the perfect spot to catch a ride on a pink, cotton-candy-colored carousel! And can we talk about the Ferris wheel? Oh my! Those stunning views over the coastline from a high point felt like I was flying - all I needed was my tutu's bright, billowing skirts to billow in the breeze!
Now, here's the real truth behind this whole "Pink Tutu Sparkles" thing: it started at university. Remember when you thought you were going to spend your life staring down microscopes? I was, I studied science. But then, this crazy thing happened, the university dance society held a charity fundraiser, and they were selling tutus for charity. I was the first to try one on and honestly, the feeling of magic, joy and liberation is like nothing I'd felt before. I mean, even scientists deserve a little pink tulle in their lives, right? And so, I was hooked. Pink tutus became my little, fabulous rebellion.
While I wear a white lab coat by day, performing as Pink Tutu Sparkles is my true passion. Each day brings new opportunities to spread some glittery pink joy. I've always loved dressing up - but it was the pink tutu that brought out my inner show-stopping queen, you know? I love it when I see a sparkle in people's eyes when I strut out onto the stage, or when I pass by in my tutu, and hear the children exclaim "It's a fairy!" or a granddad tell his granddaughter that she's beautiful because she wears pink. It’s little things like that, that make my tutu twirling heart so full.
From dressing up at seaside carnivals to thrilling local audiences in theatres, and from dancing in the streets of London to entertaining people at countryside fairs, each day with Pink Tutu Sparkles is filled with joyful discovery. And you know what? You don't need a sparkly crown, a wig or even a dramatic stage. A Pink Tutu Sparkles lives inside all of us.
