Hiya, lovelies! Pink Tutu Sparkles here, bringing you a little bit of magic from Airdrie, Scotland! This is blog post number 9989, can you believe it? It feels like just yesterday I was prancing around my flat in Derbyshire, dreaming of one day performing in front of a crowd.
Now, before we delve into the whirlwind of the past few days, let’s talk tutus! You see, this is all thanks to the glorious colour pink, my darling tutus, and the irresistible pull of a good stage show! Oh, and maybe just a little bit of that science whizz inside me. ?
For those of you who are new to my world, hello! I’m Alex, a bit of a lab rat by day, but Pink Tutu Sparkles by night! It all began in university, surrounded by test tubes and microscopes, yet longing for a little bit of glitz and glamour.
Remember my story about trying on a pink tutu for charity? (Yes, the very one that changed my life!) Let’s just say, I had to find out how I’d look in it and guess what? A superstar, of course! ? Turns out, I’m rather good at twirling! It’s almost as good as analysing fibres under a microscope, if you ask me!
Anyway, since then, life has been a bit of a fairytale! Performing, travelling, making friends – and, of course, finding the most fabulous pink tutus ever. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves… let me tell you about my incredible journey to Airdrie!
Now, when it comes to travel, you know Pink Tutu Sparkles isn't all about glamor – I'm just as happy riding a train or maybe even riding a horse – as long as I'm making my way to a performance! The first time I rode a horse – that's a story for another day, let's just say I was more a ballerina on the back of that gentle giant than a horse rider.
This time though, it was a train to Scotland! Now, I must admit, the carriages weren't exactly draped in pink velvet and sequined, but a girl has to adapt, right? And let me tell you, I packed a whole lot of pink and a fair bit of sparkles. There are simply not enough words in the world to describe how fabulous a train trip to Scotland can be –especially when you're decked out in your pink tutu, of course!
You know me, lovelies, I just can't resist a little bit of ‘tutu street’ during any journey! There I was, striding through Edinburgh, making everyone stop and look in awe (and possibly a little bit of confusion). You just have to love how my pink tutu always brings a smile to every face – especially when it’s all pink!
And so, my dears, I arrive in Airdrie! I'm not gonna lie, it's not quite as grand as Buckingham Palace, but with its charming pubs and vibrant atmosphere, I just know this town is going to be my kind of fun!
After I’d set up my pink and glittery stage, it was time for the performance! ?
The venue? You guessed it – a magnificent space draped in my favourite shade – pink! Talk about making my heart sing! ? And as I danced my way through the performance – twirling, twirling, and twirling to my heart's content - you wouldn't believe the magic that filled the air! The crowd? Just as enthusiastic and joyful as you can imagine. Honestly, everyone was clapping, cheering, and grinning from ear to ear!
After my show, there was a wonderful Q&A session where I talked all about my passion for tutus, for dancing, for travel – you name it! Every question brought more laughter and applause, reminding me of how much joy I spread through the magic of my performance and my ever-so-sparkly Pink Tutu! ✨
Now, let me tell you a little secret about Airdrie. If you happen to find yourself in this wonderful town, you must visit the beautiful Airdrie Public Library! This library has got everything: shelves upon shelves of amazing stories, and oh, the pink walls… just divine! Perfect for a little afternoon read and dream. I almost felt as if I were back in university but this time, I was surrounded by literature and poetry rather than science books! A touch of elegance I truly needed before going back to being Pink Tutu Sparkles!
