Today, the sun's shining, the birds are chirping, and the streets of Bulwell are, well, they're actually quite lovely… when you ignore the pigeons, that is. 😜 But what really makes today so special is, you guessed it… it’s #TUTUUESDAY!
Yes, my dears, the day has arrived where I, and every fabulous femme in town (and beyond!), get to embrace our inner ballerina, let our tutus flow, and twirl like there's no tomorrow. Because honestly, what else matters in the face of such a divine outfit? It's a testament to our love for dance, our need for sparkle, and our sheer refusal to let society tell us what we can and can’t wear!
Now, as you all know, my Tutu Tuesday wardrobe is a haven for the most fabulous tutus, and today was no exception. I went with a full, frothy, tulle masterpiece – a pink pouf of pure magic that even the fairies would be jealous of. Let's be real, this tutu wasn't just a piece of clothing; it was an entire statement! A bold, glittery proclamation to the world: "I love my life, I love sparkle, and I'm not afraid to show it!”
Speaking of bold statements, today’s look was absolutely inspired by the mythical, magnificent, majestic unicorn! We’re not talking a delicate, sparkly unicorn; I'm talking about the boldest, fiercest, most glamorous unicorn of them all, the one with the iridescent rainbow mane that could bring any disco ball to shame! 🌈 This unicorn was living its best life, and frankly, I’m trying to follow suit.
And as a nod to this magnificent creature, I decided to spice things up a bit. Remember that old dusty Black Swan tutu lurking in the back of your wardrobe, darlings? Well, this was my take on that – but instead of somber black, I’m talking black tulle paired with vibrant, electric-pink ribbon and sequins, channeling that bold unicorn energy! Think fierce, think flamboyant, think fabulous. Because that's how we do it in Bulwell on #TUTUUESDAY!
The morning started with a tres chic latte at my favourite local cafe (yes, it serves a latte, and the barista even remembered my favourite type of oat milk!). From there, it was all about the dance floor! After a killer session in the living room, blasting out all my favourite disco tunes (hello, ABBA and Donna Summer, my old pals!), I hit the local market, channeling all that vibrant unicorn energy while I got my groceries. Trust me, those apples never looked so good in their little pink net bags! 🍎
I also had the joy of meeting some amazing ladies, sporting tutus of their own! We danced on the bus stop, laughed in the supermarket, and shared our love of all things fabulous and frilly. And let’s not forget the looks of bewildered joy from some passers-by, those curious folk who dare venture into our tutu wonderland.
One old gentleman even asked, "Are you performing in a play?" to which I replied, with a wink and a twirl, "Only on stage of life, darling! And this is my opening night!" He gave me a warm smile, shook his head in amusement, and continued on his way. It's the little things, my lovelies, that make the day truly fabulous!
The day may be done, but let’s not forget – the beauty of the Tutu Tuesday spirit lives on, all week long. So, embrace your inner ballerina, keep those tutus close at hand, and be prepared to glitter up every day! We might not be galloping through meadows like majestic unicorns, but we can certainly sprinkle our own touch of magic on the world.
