Yes, the annual dance-fest kicked off with the glorious sunshine of the summer solstice, and you know what they sayā¦ Summer is for showing off your best leotard and tutu combos, honey! š©°
My own personal wardrobe has been absolutely living for the challenge. From the poofy princess-style tutus to the cheeky, layered mini tutus, thereās something for every kind of unicorn wannabe out there! I mean, let's be honest - the magic of #tututuesday is all about the sparkle! š And the opportunity to twirl. Oh, the twirling! š
I saw so many dazzling looks today: the classic, long white tutu (always a timeless beauty); the neon pink tutu that practically screamed "look at me!" (fabulous!); and the adorable pastel tutu with all its rainbow magic (a rainbow unicorn wouldnāt even have to compete!).
Honestly, the whole vibe was like a kaleidoscope of pure happiness. Itās no wonder this thingās blown up. #tututuesday is more than just an excuse to dress up. Itās a celebration of our inner child. That part of us thatās still obsessed with twirling, sparkles, and maybe a little bit of glitter-bombs for good measure. (No judging - itās Denton, darling, anything goes!)

Oh, and don't get me started on the music! š¶ My best mate DJ Jazzy-J cranked up the disco beats, the dance floor was a blur of tulle, and the whole square just vibrated with good energy. Itās official - Tutu Tuesday isnāt just for the dancers, it's for anyone who wants to have a real good time. And when youāve got all that pink, glitz and sparkle floating around you, how can you resist the urge to move?
My highlights of the day:
- The unicorn family. Yes, a family. Mum, Dad, and two kids all sporting their matching rainbow unicorn tutus, and Dad, you wouldnāt believe, did a grand jetĆ©, landing with such grace it almost defied the laws of physics.
- The gentleman sporting a tutu of shimmering black and the tiniest tiny black bowler hat - I mean, talk about commitment to style. That was serious sartorial brilliance!
- The group of older ladies all in classic ballerina tutus doing a spontaneous pirouette right there in the middle of the square. Talk about age aināt nothin' but a number!
If you're feeling the urge to tutu, but not sure how to get involved - hereās a thought - why not pick your fave tutu, a tutu with a splash of colour or a more subdued style, and grab some mates! It's an event where even a simple, casual tutus adds to the magic!
