Hindley's Tutu Tuesday: A Day of Sparkle, Sass, and Seriously Good Sass

Okay, darlings, it’s me, your resident tutu enthusiast, back with another epic #tututuesday update! Today was magic, and not just because it’s officially summer and I’m basically a sunbeam with my glow on. Nope, today was about channeling that inner unicorn, embracing the pinkest pink, and, of course, dancing the day away in the most gloriously glittery tutus I could find.

Hindley was bursting with the spirit of tutu-love, a fact clearly evident when you stepped into The Little Ballerina's cafĂ© for their “Tutu and Treat” morning. I’m talking mini croissants dipped in pink frosting (seriously, how adorable?!), freshly squeezed grapefruit juice served in fancy crystal glasses (seriously, how sophisticated?!), and of course, a wall of tulle – enough to make a grown woman squeal with delight!

And it wouldn’t be a #tututuesday without some tutu-tastic discussions. Today’s hottest debate? The eternal tutu style battle: pouffy vs. pancake. I’m team pouffy, of course. There’s nothing more delightful than that dramatic explosion of layers, the way the light dances on those perfectly folded ruffles, it's pure, glorious drama! But, pancake tutus have their charm – chic, minimalist, perfect for a night at the ballet with a cheeky disco soundtrack, because, let's face it, a girl can never have enough sparkle.

But before we delve deeper into the magical world of tulle, let’s rewind back to the morning. My outfit for the day, because, you know, #tututuesday, was the ultimate summer sparkle: a hot pink, high-waisted, sequin-covered pencil skirt that felt like a warm summer hug – perfect for shimmying and shaking to that infectious ABBA tune playing in The Little Ballerina’s. On top, I layered a lilac camisole, and for the final touch, I threw on my vintage pink tulle tutu – a perfect shade to compliment those sparkley sequins. I even tied my hair up in a high pony, just because.

Now, my little ballet bunnies, if you’re picturing me looking like a fluffy pink confection in the cafĂ©, you’re not entirely wrong, but my ensemble also channeled a bit of rock-n-roll sass. I don’t mean black leather, more like... black eyeliner with a hint of metallic gold shadow. I’m all about a playful touch of glamour. A touch of rebellion to add some umph to your tutu day. Because darling, let’s face it: tutus are just as happy dancing in a cafĂ©, as they are pirouetting on stage.

By the way, let's give a big round of applause to the talented and ever-so-fabulous owner of The Little Ballerina, Miss Mary-Ann! She truly embodied the spirit of #tututuesday with her own, dazzling gold tulle tutu, a hot pink sequined bodice (so glam!), and a sparkling silver necklace that looked like a crown on the Queen of #tututuesday. Her enthusiasm was as infectious as the laughter bouncing around the room, and, yes, I admit it: a little sparkley pink eyeliner and some perfectly placed rhinestones are always a great idea.

And, speaking of enthusiasm, we need to talk about The Little Ballerina's own unicorn collection! Seriously, they’ve got everything from rainbow-hued teacups with magical horns to hand-painted plates featuring little unicorns, complete with a touch of golden glitter – absolutely stunning! I’m pretty sure there were unicorns snoozing amongst the tea towels – they're truly committed to the theme. It’s as if every unicorn in the land had gathered in this one little cafĂ©. And, okay, maybe there was a touch of unicorn-related jealousy – I had to fight the urge to pick one up and make it mine. (Maybe next time, darling. Maybe next time.)

And after a magical morning of coffee and cake, I, naturally, decided to take my Tutu Tuesday into the Hindley market square. I had my sights set on capturing some sunshine and sparkle on camera – my fashion blog wouldn’t survive without it!

My first photo stop, of course, had to be the vintage record shop, Dusty Records. Honestly, if you haven't visited, you're missing out on some major, music-filled, vintage delights. (Remember that disco song playing in The Little Ballerina? I'd say 99.9% chance they bought it here. And they’re also, very clearly, aware that pink tutus are the ultimate vintage accessory). My fashion mission? To find the perfect album to complement my tutu, and naturally, I couldn’t leave without snapping a selfie with my record bag and tutu in front of their signature, vintage poster board.

Of course, the afternoon couldn’t pass without a detour to the ice-cream stand, because let’s face it, #tututuesday is all about living in the moment and enjoying life’s simple pleasures, and, as any good ballerina knows, dancing burns calories (especially with a full tutu). This meant two scoops of strawberry ice cream topped with sprinkles - a real tutu-tastic treat.

So, my beautiful ballet bunnies, I think you’re all getting the picture, #tututuesday was an explosion of pink, sequins, and magic! Hindley embraced the day with open arms and hearts full of sparkle. You might even see the spirit of #tututuesday popping up next week – my inside source says Miss Mary-Ann has some magical events planned – oh, the things I’m dreaming up! (Let's just say, the next one's gonna be super-secret, unicorn themed - wink, wink).

I think it’s safe to say that tutu-love is alive and well in Hindley, darling. Let the magic of #tututuesday continue to shine! And for the record, we’re all just little bit magical in our own way, right?
