It's that time again, my fellow tutu enthusiasts – it’s #Tututuesday! And guess what, Middleton has become my official #Tututuesday hangout spot, because, darling, they know how to throw a good tutu-themed bash! I'm talking sequins, sparkles, and of course, enough pink to make Barbie blush.
This week’s Tutu Tuesday theme was ‘Unicorn Sparkle,’ and let me tell you, my dear readers, my inner child could not have been happier. It felt like stepping right into a magical forest. Imagine rainbows, glitter, and a bunch of giddy ballet dancers twirling around – and that, my friends, was just the scene outside.
Inside, the café was buzzing with a delightful symphony of laughter, chatter, and the occasional squeal of delight. It was like a disco fever dream, complete with a DJ spinning 70s tunes. Oh, the power of disco! It makes even the most hesitant ballerina feel like they can shimmy and shake like Donna Summer herself!
I spotted so many amazing tutus, my head was spinning! From classic puffy tutus to more contemporary designs with asymmetrical cuts, the styles were truly unique. Some were even adorned with rainbow ribbons and faux unicorn horns, and believe me, it looked utterly fabulous! I personally opted for a baby pink, tulle tutu that billowed with each twirl – think ‘The Princess Bride’ meets 'Magic Mike'. Let's just say I channeled my inner Buttercup while channelling a little bit of Channing Tatum. Don't judge, I just wanted to have fun!
We even had a unicorn-themed dance class led by the ever-so-talented ballerina, Jessica. Let's just say she's got the moves like Jagger... or maybe more accurately, the moves like a unicorn prancing in a field of roses. Her tutorial included graceful unicorn-inspired leaps and gallops, ending with a final pose where we all held our arms above our heads and swayed in unison. We looked like a band of sparkly unicorns – it was pure magic!
After the class, the unicorn theme continued with an afternoon tea filled with rainbow-coloured macarons, unicorn-shaped cupcakes, and of course, a unicorn-themed milkshake, because what’s a magical celebration without a unicorn-inspired milkshake? The concoction was pink and purple perfection, topped with a unicorn horn made of spun sugar. Honestly, you haven’t lived until you've seen a whole bunch of grown women excitedly munching on pink cupcakes and indulging in unicorn-themed milkshake – it was a sight for sore eyes!
I love how #Tututuesday events allow me to unleash my inner child. There's something truly special about getting together with fellow tutu enthusiasts and just having a blast. Plus, you know it's always going to be a fun day when there's enough glitter and sparkle to light up the entire town. It's all about celebrating tutus, having fun, and a little bit of escapism from the everyday.
