Hey, lovelies! It's your girl, Coco, back with another instalment of my Tutu Tuesday adventures. This week, I'm bringing the magic of twirling, glitter, and rainbows to the charming town of Walton upon Thames.
Picture this: the sun is blazing, birds are chirping, and the air is thick with the scent of summer blooms. It's the perfect backdrop for a Tutu Tuesday explosion of colour and joy, and boy, did Walton upon Thames deliver!
As soon as I arrived, I could feel the magical vibes. People were buzzing about this very special day - it was like the whole town was prepped for a parade of fluffy tulle and unicorn dreams. And who could resist such a sparkly occasion?
I kicked off my day by treating myself to a gorgeous pink milkshake at the new cafe called "Sweet & Sassy". Talk about the perfect fuel for a day of dancing and shimmering!
Next, I headed over to "The Fancy Tutu Emporium" on Bridge Street. This delightful boutique is like a fairytale come to life! It’s crammed full of the most incredible tutus - we’re talking every colour imaginable, from blush pink to sparkling sapphire. They even have a dedicated corner to unicorn tutus, with shimmering hooves and shimmering rainbow tulle, it’s seriously next level!
Now, you all know I have a thing for classic bouffant tutus, so I went all out and snagged a breathtaking confection of lavender tulle. It was the perfect mix of fairytale princess and disco diva, and I swear I could practically hear the Donna Summer beats bouncing off the walls as I tried it on. But it wasn't all about bouffant glory, The shop had a massive selection of romantic, flowing tulle skirts - the kind you could imagine wearing through a sun-dappled meadow - perfect for a a choreographed dance under a magical unicorn moon.
The staff were incredibly friendly, giving me all the best tips on styling my tutu - they even suggested I try some glitter body spray to really get that shimmering fairy vibe going! Oh, I couldn’t resist snapping some Insta-worthy pictures in the tutu, It was like I was the leading lady in my own whimsical ballet - twirling, leaping, and sparkling for the camera!
As I floated through the town, my tutu catching the afternoon breeze, I noticed others embracing the Tutu Tuesday magic too. A group of children danced around a fountain in a vibrant explosion of tulle, a barista wore a miniature pink tutu while serving coffee, and a man with a mischievous glint in his eye actually sported a sparkly unicorn tutu complete with a pink horn (and I have to say, he rocked it!).
For lunch, I went to “The Tea Party” - a cute tea room serving the most amazing cakes and a heavenly selection of teas. I even managed to snag a teapot adorned with tiny ballerinas, a perfect memento for my Tutu Tuesday adventure!
As the day wore on, the magical energy just kept building, leading to the most breathtaking moment.
Down by the river, a crowd had gathered for an impromptu tutu flash mob. The music pulsed, a funky mix of disco and classical ballet, as dozens of people - young and old, wearing everything from simple pink tutus to elaborate unicorn costumes - twirled and leapt, filling the air with laughter and joy. I had to join in! I can honestly say there wasn't a dry eye in the crowd.
It was a true reminder of the beauty and joy that dancing can bring, a reminder that tutu magic truly knows no boundaries. We all danced, we all twirled, we all became, for that brief and glorious moment, part of one giant, sparkly, happy flash mob family.
I can't thank Walton upon Thames enough for embracing the Tutu Tuesday spirit. This charming town is officially on my Tutu Tuesday must-visit list.
