The sun is shining, the birds are singing (and hopefully not about the neighbours' karaoke session), and the only thing missing is a touch of magical, sparkly tutu-tastic fun! It’s official - Welling has gone #TutuTuesday mad and I am living for it!
Today, it’s all about embracing the power of pink, the majesty of tutus, and the pure, unadulterated joy of twirling!
Seriously, the streets of Welling were absolutely bursting with colourful tutus. Think every shade of pink imaginable, with a sprinkle of rainbows thrown in for good measure. We saw them on babies, on grandmothers, on dudes in dad jeans, and even a very stylish (and surprised) postman rocking a bright pink tutu under his bag!
Now, I know what you're thinking - tutus aren't just for ballerinas, right? Wrong! Let me tell you, a tutu can transform you. Whether you're rocking a classic romantic tulle skirt with a flowing, delicate drape or you're embracing a bold, multi-layered number fit for a disco queen, the tutu makes a statement.
My personal fav? A sassy, layered tulle tutu with a sprinkle of iridescent sequins. A true disco queen on a sugar rush! I call it my "Disco Unicorn" and it's been getting a LOT of admiring glances today. I can't even describe the feeling of walking into a shop, with the air conditioning on full blast, in my sparkly rainbow tulle – it's like everyone's giving you the most appreciative and approving head nods.
There were so many fab tutu styles spotted in Welling today! The girls are definitely leading the way with everything from elegant ballet tutus to sassy layered ones that literally skimmed the ground. A couple of blokes even tried out a tulle tutu, and let's just say... it’s not always about the style, but the sheer enjoyment of #tututuesday!
Speaking of enjoyment, it's time to address the unicorn in the room... and there were a LOT of unicorns today.
Think shimmering pink tutus, complete with glittery horns, dazzling wings, and tails trailing like majestic, magical clouds. We even saw a family, fully committed, dressed as unicorns! Mom in a majestic blue unicorn tutu, Dad sporting a magnificent white version, and their tiny daughter prancing in a mini pink and rainbow number. Honestly, if those unicorns aren’t the most wholesome family you've ever seen, I don’t know what is.
If you haven’t heard about #TutuTuesday already, I don't know what planet you've been living on! This movement (and let's be honest, it's not just a movement - it’s a full-blown movement with an epic soundtrack of disco) is taking over the world. Every Tuesday, it's a celebration of tutus, sparkle, joy, and (let's be honest) the glorious power of a good twirl!
So, get ready, Welling! It seems that this little corner of the UK is not just taking on #tututuesday, but wholeheartedly embracing it! This town’s not just twirling into Tuesday, but owning the whole day with style, sparkle, and (lots and lots of) tutus!
