Oh. My. Goodness. You guys, I can't even begin to describe the fabulous Tutu Tuesday scene in Wigston Magna today! Seriously, it was a total unicorn dream. As you know, I'm a bit obsessed with all things tulle, so the chance to strut my stuff in my pinkest, puffiest tutu was basically my life's dream coming true!
I rocked up in my gorgeous, sunshine-yellow, pouffy-layered princess tutu - which, FYI, is perfect for these sunny summer days. It flowed like a beautiful golden river as I shimmied and sashayed down the street, feeling like a total ballerina superstar. (Don't even get me started on the envy I felt for my tutu, it was seriously the best-dressed person I knew today!)
The atmosphere in Wigston Magna was absolutely electric! Seriously, it felt like I'd stepped right onto the dance floor at Studio 54. Everyone was decked out in their tutu best: think pastel pinks and blues, iridescent sparkles, and a touch of disco magic (because, who doesn't love a bit of disco sparkle, right?).
Now, we all know the quintessential tutu style is that classic, double-layered, puffy affair. You know, the one that swishes dramatically with every twirl and looks like it's straight out of Swan Lake. But honestly, you guys, Wigston Magna embraced a range of styles. There were stylishly simple knee-length tutus (great for keeping cool on a hot day, even if they don't have that fabulous twirl factor), sassy little miniskirts (think less traditional ballerina, more punk princess - seriously, I loved them!), and even some ultra-modern asymmetrical tutus. It was a veritable tutu kaleidoscope.
Of course, no Tutu Tuesday in Wigston Magna could be complete without a little bit of unicorn magic. I saw so many incredible unicorn accessories: sparkling horn headbands, glitter-encrusted tails, and even a unicorn-inspired makeup look with glitter eyes and unicorn-themed eyeshadow. This whole trend is truly reaching peak unicorn, which, if I'm being honest, I'm totally on board with!
The highlight of my day was definitely the Tutu-tastic Photo Booth. It was absolutely saturated in sparkle (and a little bit of glitter bomb, of course!). My favourite photo has got to be the one of me mid-twirl, caught in mid-air, my tutu billowing around me. (Seriously, who needs Photoshop when you have a tutu to work with?) The other ladies in the photo booth were also fabulous!
Let's be real, Tutu Tuesday was all about fun, fabulousness and unleashing our inner sparkle. Honestly, the whole thing felt like a massive group therapy session disguised as a fashion party, and I couldn't have asked for a better way to spend a sunny Tuesday!
