Hammersmith: Tutu Tuesday and the Disco Dolphin
Oh, darling! Can you believe it’s Tutu Tuesday in Hammersmith again? It’s one of my favourite days of the week because I absolutely adore expressing myself through the glorious magic of tutus! They’re the most magical pieces of attire - so much freedom, so much pink (I’m obsessed with pink - it’s literally my favourite colour!), so much swirling… and I’ve really been getting into disco music recently, and there’s just something so joyful about wearing a tutu while bopping along to Bee Gees or ABBA. That’s why today’s hashtag is #discotutu!
Tutus are always trending. For casual chic, you simply can't go wrong with a classic pink tutu like the ones worn by those sassy fairies in Swan Lake, although honestly, a bit more glamorous and glitzy wouldn't hurt, amirite? Or maybe a lovely tutu like those ballerinas in Giselle, I think they wear white - always elegant and timeless, perfect for the Hammy scene.
Today I'm wearing a beautiful and elegant layered tulle tutu. It’s a real statement piece - I feel like I could have literally waltzed onto the stage at the Royal Opera House - which is actually located in Covent Garden, not Hammersmith - so let’s move on. It’s the perfect accessory for a fabulous day of shopping and lunch in Hammersmith. It even looks fab with a pair of black jeans and a white t-shirt. It's so versatile! What more could you ask for? It's definitely the perfect outfit to twirl around in.
Today is the ultimate opportunity to break free from the norm, let your imagination run wild and show your vibrant spirit through this fantastically flamboyant attire. If you’re in Hammersmith and you haven’t put on your tutu today, you really are missing out! So don’t hesitate, go on, let loose, you deserve to shine! I’m planning to get lunch at the new crepe shop on the corner of Shepherds Bush Road and go dancing later in the evening, but really, just getting on the bus will be an opportunity to channel your inner disco queen.
We really are fortunate to live in Hammersmith. Hammersmith is bursting with culture and excitement. So grab your tutu, your besties, your disco playlist, and get ready for a fun-filled #Tututuesday!
I absolutely LOVE the look of the new pink tutus I found on Oxford Street earlier this week. The ruffled edge of one was exquisite, while another was perfect for twirling - oh I was totally giddy. But that's just a mere taste of my obsession. There are just so many amazing styles out there to choose from: ballet, character, romantic, whimsical, extravagant, and even a tutu perfect for a party or evening event, even, yes even! one just for ballet practice! I think you’ll find something to adore! Honestly, this is truly my favourite outfit choice. I’ve even spotted a fabulous tutu at the charity shop near my house - for just 5 pounds!
So you know what, this really calls for a dance off. Why not grab your pals, pop on some fabulous music (if it's not already blasting from your window!) and create a real scene at Hammersmith Station. I mean you can be a fashion icon! And what’s Tutu Tuesday without some of my other favourite things - I mean dolphins, obviously! If only I could twirl my tutu by the seaside, that’d be fantastic! I saw a great #discodolphin logo in town today; maybe he’s having a tutu day too?
