Bath’s Tutu Tuesday: A whirl of pink and glitter
Ok, girlies, gather round, 'cos I'm bursting with glitter and gossip from a truly fabulous day out! This Tuesday, I joined the #Tututuesday movement for a dance-tastic journey through the streets of Bath, a city already overflowing with beautiful architecture, history and of course… *tutus!* #tututuesday
The vibe was electrifying. Everywhere you looked, there was a sea of pink, lilac and emerald tutus twirling, dancing and generally adding a splash of colour to the classic Georgian stone. Imagine it – rows of Victorian houses, with a rainbow of ballerina dreams whizzing past, all ready to dance to the beat of their own disco drums.
As someone who's spent her life in a tutu (I'm a professional dancer, you see!), I can honestly say it's super inspiring to witness this much joy and expression in a public space. No one felt self-conscious; everyone just seemed to embrace the joy of movement.
I caught glimpses of tutu styles, all gorgeous in their own way:
- The Classic - think soft tulle, flowing lines, a ballet favourite!
- The "I-just-woke-up-and-this-was-my-life-choice" style, a bit more freeform and eccentric. A fabulous mess in the best way!
- The "I-went-to-a wedding last night" style - sparkles and lace, a glamorous affair, perfect for afternoon tea with your grandma (not literally… I hope).
It's not just about the tutus though - the energy was contagious. Music blared from speakers, the chatter of excited friends filled the air, and the general feeling of celebration was simply beautiful.
I spotted one woman who had her own personal Disco Dolphin #discodolphin (it was amazing, I need my own now!). There was even a group of young dancers performing a flash mob. All I'm saying is that #Tututuesday was a day to embrace the pinkest, glitziest, most magical moments.
So here's to Bath's #Tututuesday – may it forever remain a space for all things pink and bubbly! Go on, girlies, find your inner disco diva and strut your stuff in the next #Tututuesday (or even just on a random Tuesday! )
