Tutu Tuesday in Brixton: Disco Dolphining Our Way to Tutu HeavenĀ
Ā Itās Tuesday, and you know what that means: #tututuesday! The day dedicated to all things tutu! Brixton, London, is practically my second home. You could even say it's my "third" if we are including the fabulous, glittery underwater realm where dolphins dance to disco, of course. This vibrant place pulses with an infectious energy, just like the infectious disco beats that inspire this magical Tutu Tuesday celebration.

Speaking of magical energy, my own personal disco dolphin has been nudging me, yes, nudging, to don a special kind of tutu today, one that reflects the spirit of Brixton.
Iām thinking: * **A Powder-Pink, Bell-Shaped Tutu:** I imagine a fluffy cloud of pink, so light and whimsical it dances with the beat of Donna Summer, maybe with some sequins, oh and some rainbow shimmer, for an extra "Brixton" touch. * **A Black Velvet Tutu:** To pay homage to the dark, bold spirit of the "black" in Brixton - and my love for Velvet Underground. Think a daring, short-length skirt with a velvet top that could double as a glamorous top if needed for an evening out. I wouldn't rule out a few sparkling stars, in a velvet style. * **A Street Style Tutu:** Perhaps this is a little different from your traditional tutu. Think more āfashion meets performanceā. We could take the base shape of a tutu but imagine it with denim patchwork and ripped fishnets or even a touch of graffiti. **Brixton's Calling** But first, I've gotta hit up Brixton market. What is a Tutu Tuesday celebration without some inspiration? I love the energy and the mix of things in this area of London. For starters, Iām a serious vintage devotee. Brixton has tons of secondhand stores that are literally crammed with dazzling fabrics and threads. It is pure disco treasure hunting! I am almost always guaranteed a treasure. A shimmering brocade to embellish the tutu!

Of course, I've gotta try a bit of that sweet, smoky jerk chicken in Brixton Market, Itās my āTutu Tuesday Fuelā, like my personal dolphin. But for today, maybe the chicken is more "spicy disco dolphin fuel", oh yes. I must stay hydrated. I shall get a refreshing Jamaican patty and a delicious mango drink, my perfect combo to kickstart a day that is dedicated to pure Tutu Love. **#Discodolphin** This whole Tutu Tuesday journey reminds me of the "disco dolphin." I love this phrase. It evokes an image of a bright pink, shimmery dolphin doing the hustle to a thumping Donna Summer track, in a kaleidoscopic aquarium! So if I'm dancing along in the streets and you see someone spinning to the disco vibes... yes, thatās my disco dolphin and I donāt want to scare you off but just to let you know you might want to be in a Tutu yourself. I mean come on, when the iconic tunes of Chic are ringing out it just feels like you're gliding through the city with the utmost confidence and you know what else? Confidence is the perfect attitude for a tutu. It's about feeling like you are in charge and having a bit of fun in the most magical of ways!
