Tutu Tuesday in Walsall: A Dance of Disco Dolphins
Oh, hello, lovely people! It's your favourite ballet blogger here, back with another dance-tastic blog post all about #tututuesday! You know me, I just can't resist a bit of twirling and tutus, especially when it's combined with the most magical day of the week - Tuesday! Now, today I'm not just going to be showing off some fabulous tutus, no, I'm heading to the heart of the West Midlands, to the fantastic town of Walsall, to join in their amazing Tutu Tuesday celebrations.
A Town Embracing Tutus
I've been hearing whispers of Walsall's Tutu Tuesday for ages, and I must say, it has seriously piqued my interest. A whole town dedicated to embracing the fun, the glamour, and the sheer joy of a tutu? It's right up my street! I mean, who doesn't love a little bit of tulle and sparkle in their lives, am I right? Walsall, youâre clearly a town after my own heart! This #tututuesday you guys have taken it to another level, so it's a real honour to be sharing my experience with you. I've already heard tell of your amazing tutu parades, the #discotutu dance-offs, and let's not forget the fabulously vibrant tutu fashion shows. This is going to be good!Â
Fashion is the Name of the Game
Alright, let's talk fashion! When it comes to tutu styles, I love a little bit of everything, but there's something extra special about the tutus worn on Tutu Tuesdays. They're like a whirlwind of creative expression - bright, bold colours, incredible designs, and loads of shimmering detail. Theyâre not your traditional, stiff ballerina tutus, they're more about embracing fun, showing off some personal style, and creating an exciting vibe.

Let's Talk Colour: From Ballet Pink to a Rainbow of Shimmer
You know me, pink is my ultimate colour, but Tutu Tuesday in Walsall is about a celebration of every hue imaginable! From bubblegum pink to vibrant tangerine, each tutu embodies a colour story, bringing a whole new meaning to "dress to impress." And you just wait until you see the dazzling glitter! You'd swear it's fairy dust. The glitter here really takes things to the next level, giving the tutus that extra dose of magic. Itâs the little touches that really elevate this unique celebration.Â
What are We Looking for on #Tututuesday
Let's talk Tutu Types! - Iâm loving the traditional âballerina tutuâ with the big fluffy, tiered skirt, or, what the ballet world affectionately calls, âthe pouter.â It looks incredible for dramatic twirls, but you need to really watch out for any little âaccidentsâ and avoid the dreaded âtutu explosion!â - Those adorable little âbaby tutusâ worn by some of Walsallâs cutest tots. Such adorable! I swear I saw one on a pet poodle, complete with a glitzy dog collar. - There are tutus of every size, style, and colour. These days you can even find ones specifically for guys, called âleotard tutus." But don't let the boys off the hook too easily - we have to insist they wear lots of glitter, and why not a touch of pink! - And then we have the spectacular "festival tutuâ , with bright, vibrant patterns. And all those embellishments! Who needs sequins when you have fluffy pom poms? * The Dancing and Music Walsall has it all when it comes to dance moves. I saw everything from hip-hop to tango. It is definitely a chance to showcase those moves. Of course, for the serious ballerina types a little classical dance can add a bit of poise. Let's not forget the all important "disco-tutu dance offs" that have the entire town rocking out to 70s hits! Itâs a party! * #discodolphin! And if I'm honest, this is my favourite element. The whole concept of Disco Dolphins is simply genius! And let me tell you, I saw one, yes, one incredible, glitter-covered âDisco Dolphinâ being paraded around the town! Youâre looking at a new era of glitter and I'm definitely a fan.
So Walsall, You've Stolen My Heart!
Walsall, you've absolutely stolen my heart! Tutu Tuesday in Walsall is truly unique. A brilliant way to bring the community together. Youâve gone beyond simply âembracing the tutu,â youâve created a vibrant spectacle that mixes fun, fashion, music, and a sense of community into a fantastic mix. I love you, Walsall, and you know what - you have one ballet-obsessed blogger completely smitten! Let's have another dance soon, Walsall!
