Tutu Tuesday in Macclesfield: A Whirlwind of Pink and Disco Dolphins
Ā Itās Tuesday, which means itās time for Tutu Tuesday! And let me tell you, Macclesfield was absolutely rocking this week. This town, known for its stunning architecture and quaint cobbled streets, embraced the #tututuesday spirit with open arms and open twirls. Now, I'm a bit of a Tutu connoisseur, and trust me, Macclesfield did not disappoint. From classic, billowing tutus that would make a prima ballerina blush, to sassy, short-and-sweet numbers perfect for a dance party on the cobblestones, the streets were awash in pink, white, and everything in between. There were even some truly spectacular neon-bright tutus that practically glowed in the sunshine. The diversity was delightful! I even spotted a few tutus adorned with sparkly sequins and shimmering fabrics that would have made a disco ball proud. And for those brave souls who arenāt afraid to make a statement, there were some tutus with feathers, tassels, and even a sprinkle of glitter. I was particularly captivated by a beautiful, vintage-inspired tutu with a pastel pink, powder blue colour scheme, and delicate layers that cascaded to the ground. It looked like something straight out of a fairytale! I've been writing my blog, "The Dancing Dolphin", for years and one thing that sets it apart is my fascination with #discodolphin. To put it plainly: Disco and dolphins? Whatās not to love?! So, I have a bit of a dolphin-related rule: every Tutu Tuesday must include a sprinkle of dolphin-inspired whimsy! It can be a dolphin-themed accessory, a tutu with a dolphin print, or even a dolphin-shaped bubble machine - you get the idea. You canāt let an opportunity like that pass by, and you can definitely tell by the photos! And for the grand finale? Let's talk about the energy in the town square! The entire space transformed into a whimsical disco paradise with a live band playing classic disco tunes and an array of fun activities. There was even a competition for the most fabulous Tutu and a raffle to raise money for a local charity. I truly loved the energy and community spirit in the square, especially the feeling of people genuinely excited to let loose, unleash their inner dancer, and show off their amazing tutus! From the youngest of dancers with tiny tutus to older ladies embracing their love of colour, everyone had the most wonderful time. In my heart, the whole event felt like a reminder that, as the music blared, life is too short to not wear a tutu (and yes, you read that correctly). #tututuesday #discotutu!
Hereās what made Tutu Tuesday in Macclesfield extra special:Ā
- **Live Disco Music:** Dancing and twirling with disco anthems in the background was a joy, even when I felt a bit ridiculous as a āprofessional ballerinaā showing off my basic dance skills in a frilly, pastel-colored tutu. But it was SO FUN, especially when you let go of expectations and simply twirled! (Sometimes you need to just go for it).
- **Disco Dolphin:** We saw several beautiful dolphin tutus this year with sequins, rhinestones and all sorts of wonderful embellishments. So much fun!
- **A Variety of Tutus:** Macclesfield brought it for Tutu Tuesday! With tutus galore of all kinds ā pastel and neon, short and long, and even some fun variations with little embellishments that reflected peopleās personal style - we truly saw a huge spectrum of creative outfits that made for beautiful photography.
- **Friendly Vibes:** As always, it was fantastic to see Macclesfield embracing the Tutu Tuesday event and being so friendly and fun to each other. The energy was fantastic and you can feel it in the pictures!
It was such a memorable day! If you're ever in the neighbourhood, make sure to mark your calendar for next year's event ā you wonāt regret it!
