Tutu Tuesday in Herne Bay: A Whirlwind of Pink and Sequins
Okay, darlings, let's be honest. We all have a tutu in our wardrobe. And no, I'm not talking about that dusty, moth-eaten creation hiding at the back of your cupboard – I'm talking about the **power of a tutu**. The whimsical twirl, the feeling of effortless grace, the sheer, undeniable joy of swirling around in a cloud of tulle. Yes, **Tutu Tuesday is upon us!** #tututuesday #discotutu
Now, Herne Bay is hardly known for its ballet scene, but today, a magic happened. Picture it: the sun shining, the sea sparkling, and a troupe of tutu-clad dreamboats (myself included!) ready to bring some much-needed sparkle to this seaside town.
It all started with a simple, "Why not?" on my blog. My fellow ballet besties – we call ourselves the "Twirling Tides" - were in for a wild adventure. So, with a chorus of "Oh, yes, please!" we all rallied around the idea of a Tutu Tuesday extravaganza in Herne Bay.
And let's talk about the tutus. We weren't holding back, darlings! From classic ballerina styles in delicate pink to disco-tastic, neon delights, our tutu game was on fire.
- My personal favourite was this baby pink number with a layered tulle skirt and sparkly gold trim. It felt like something out of a 70s disco scene, a bit **Barbarella meets "Saturday Night Fever"** – all I needed was a glitter bomb and a strobe light!
- My bestie, Lily, rocked a short, frilly tutu in electric blue. It was a true **powerhouse tutu** - she twirled with the energy of a hurricane, scattering sequins and good vibes in her wake.
- And then there was Amelia – the epitome of ballet grace in a classic black swan tutu. With every graceful movement, she transformed the seaside promenade into a mini-theatre stage,
Our impromptu dance session on the beach drew quite a crowd. We had elderly gentlemen, mothers pushing prams, and even a few bewildered seagulls watching us in awe. We didn’t need a theatre stage, darling, the entire seaside became our canvas.
The afternoon was a flurry of twirling, laughter, and joyful abandon. There were impromptu ballet lessons with bewildered beach-goers (let's just say a few pliés were perfected, shall we?) and a chorus line on the pier, where we even dared to dip our toes in the cool, salty waters of the English Channel (all in our tutus, obviously!).
Herne Bay will never be the same! The memory of our Tutu Tuesday is going to be seared into our hearts (and maybe a few camera roll memories for Instagram). #discodolphin #tututuesday We embraced the spirit of freedom, laughter, and the utter joy of twirling. So if you see us out and about in Herne Bay, give us a wave - you know what we're about: spreading good vibes and embracing the magic of the tutu.
To all the Tutu Tuesdays to come, I say... "Twirl on!"
