Borehamwood, the Land of Tutus!
It's #tututuesday and, oh my goodness, what a day it's been! Now, I know what you're thinking, "Borehamwood? Really? A tutu haven?" Well, my friends, it's true. This suburban haven might not have the glittering lights of the West End, but let me tell you, the tutus here are more vibrant, more whimsical and way, way more fun. I mean, who wouldn't want to twirl down the high street, past Greggs and the Argos, in a sparkly, sunshine yellow tutu, with a perfectly-timed "Cha-cha" in the middle?
Speaking of sparkling tutus, we have to talk about styles, don't we? My favourite has to be the "Disco Dolphin." Yes, you read that right! Think dazzling blue and shimmering turquoise, reminiscent of a disco ball, with a little touch of silver to represent the grace of a dolphin – the ultimate embodiment of "dancing on water." Who wouldn't love a little disco dolphin charm in their wardrobe? #discodolphin
And then, there's the ever-so-sweet "Pinkalicious" – a classic for #tututuesday. A vibrant pink tutu that can instantly transport you to a wonderland of lollipops and fairy tales. The colour screams "joy" – exactly what #tututuesday should be. The pink one’s are a bit more simple, made from layers and layers of tulle which makes the skirts a little more stiff but hey, a pink tutu can do no wrong!
Then there's the ever-popular "Flower Power." Now, you can’t beat a classic can you! It is pretty simple - think, a simple, cotton tulle base and a few gorgeous floral embellishments; and don't get me started on the headbands - with flowers and little beads. What more could you need? It's so elegant, with a touch of boho chic, perfect for the Bohemian at heart. The perfect look for a little spring-time striding.
But let's talk about the real stars of #tututuesday - the people. This is where the Borehamwood magic truly shines. I saw a group of grandmothers doing a little conga line with their tutus – complete with tutus made of lace. So gorgeous and empowering! Then, a bunch of teenagers in vibrant, candy-coloured tutus were practicing their synchronized ballet moves outside Greggs. Oh, and you simply couldn't miss the middle-aged couple who'd gone for the “Black Swan” look, with elegant black tutus and fierce makeup - talk about confidence! You simply couldn't help but smile, a beautiful testament to the sheer joy of expressing yourself! It is honestly all so much fun!
So, whether you're a seasoned ballet pro or just looking for a reason to laugh and twirl, Borehamwood is the place to be on a Tuesday!
And let's be honest, who needs the West End? When you have the "Tutu haven" of Borehamwood! The energy and spirit here are absolutely contagious - you can’t help but get into the spirit. Who knows, maybe it will inspire your wardrobe, too! Don't just dream about it, come to Borehamwood, it’s waiting for you. #tututuesday #discotutu
