North Shields: A Tutu-tastic Tuesday!
Well, hello darlings! It’s your girl, Lily, back with another blog post. This time, it's all about **#Tututuesday** and the absolute fabulously fabulous event that happened in my home town, North Shields. It’s time for you to slip into a bit of #discotutu heaven and get ready for the most colourful, twirly Tuesday you've ever experienced!
Picture this: A gorgeous sunny afternoon in North Shields, the iconic Fish Quay alive with music, laughter, and - you guessed it - **tutus**! Seriously, I’m talking about tutus everywhere – a veritable ocean of tulle! We had sparkly tutus, soft, floaty tutus, ** tutu skirts** – and let's not forget the tutus that looked like a dream, made in those soft, pretty pink colours I simply adore. (Because who doesn’t love a bit of pink? It’s just the most magical shade! )
Let me paint you a picture. Imagine strolling down the pier, seeing a parade of tutus flowing past. All sorts of people were taking part: little kids looking absolutely adorable in their tiny pink tutus, grown-up ladies with tutus cascading behind them like the finest silk, and everyone just enjoying themselves to the full. I swear, everyone seemed a little brighter, a little more happy, wrapped up in a sea of sparkly tulle!
And then there was the music! The whole event was a blast from the past, a veritable disco wonderland! The Fish Quay buzzed with retro beats, classic tunes that made your toes tap, your hips sway and your head move - it was total disco fever, right on the seaside!
I swear, at some point, I even heard "Dancing Queen" – like how could you not crank up that Abba masterpiece during a tutu-tastic extravaganza like this? My favourite tune of the day though? “Disco Inferno”. I just couldn't help but groove to that one with every single fibre of my being!
What really stood out for me? The amount of fun people were having! And honestly, how could they not?! With so much dancing, laughing and twirling, it was like a little bubble of joy on the seafront, like those shimmering dolphin shows at Sea Life! And speaking of dolphins, don't even get me started on the giant disco dolphin statue that graced the event. That's right, it was there, a shining beacon of all things disco and fantastically fabulous. Now that's what I call a #Discodolphin!
So, if you missed #Tututuesday in North Shields, well, you really missed out! It was an event for the books, something truly unique. You don't need to be a dancer to have a good time in a tutu! Honestly, all you need is a sprinkle of glitter, a lot of joy and a willingness to twirl like there’s no tomorrow - because trust me, you'll be dancing your cares away in no time!
So, let’s have a proper look at the tutu scene in detail:
• Sparkly Tutue Mania: A dazzling array of shimmering tutus in golds, silver and all those brilliant, attention grabbing hues just screamed “I'm ready to party!”.
• Soft and Pretty in Pink: Those pastel-hued tutus? Oh my goodness. Soft and delicate, like dancing on clouds. We’re talking princess vibes!
•Classic Black Elegance: A black tutu – an instant statement! I always adore a touch of black when it comes to tulle! I saw some beautiful examples that oozed simple, stylish sophistication, you know, like a ballet classic!
•Rainbow of Tutus: Let's face it, a #tututuesday is about all the colour! The bolder, the better, as far as I'm concerned. Seeing a whole multicoloured sea of tulle was something absolutely magical, like a technicolor dream.
