Oh, Newtownards, you fabulous little town, you! You really know how to throw a party! Today, my lovelies, the air was electric with anticipation, as I arrived in my little haven of twirling joy, ready to celebrate the glorious phenomenon that is #tututuesday.
Now, I've got to tell you, I'm not talking about just *any* tutu, here. I'm talking about those fabulous frilly creations, the ones that twirl like a dream and make you feel like a disco-dancing princess! I mean, a pink princess, of course, just like the fabulous #discodolphin. Think vibrant pinks, bright purples, maybe a sprinkle of sunshine yellow – that's my kinda party!
From the moment I arrived, I was swept up in a whirlwind of tutu-tastic delights! Picture this: a whole street filled with fellow enthusiasts, their tutus shimmering in the sun, each more magnificent than the last. There were classic tulle tutus, floating like clouds of colour, dramatic layered tutus, that were practically a dance floor in themselves, and even some daring, super-short tutus, showing off some fabulous legwork. And then, there were the tutu-fied accessories, oh my goodness! Tutu headbands, tutu handbags, tutu shoelaces... this was a day to embrace your inner twirling queen, and the Newtownards residents were definitely embracing it!
The atmosphere was absolutely electric. We danced to the infectious tunes of a fantastic DJ, their beats a soundtrack to our swirling fun. The kids were buzzing, flitting around like adorable ballerinas, their smiles wider than ever. It truly was a day of joyous liberation, and, if I may say so myself, utterly gorgeous.

Honestly, if it weren't for the aching in my toes, I'd be right there, joining in, shimmying and twirling the day away.
