Tutu Tuesday in West Bromwich
Hello fellow fashionistas! It’s your girl, Clara, bringing you the latest and greatest in dancewear fashion, and what better way to kick things off than with a Tutu Tuesday in the heart of West Bromwich. Yep, you read that right. The town of West Bromwich, which has often been overlooked when it comes to fashion trends, is taking a spin on the dance floor with #Tututuesday!
It all started when I was on a mission to find the perfect pink tutu (of course!) for my latest Instagram post. Now, I’m a firm believer that a good tutu is not just for the stage but for everyday life too, especially if it's as sassy as I like them. As I wandered through the bustling West Bromwich market, I saw a stall with a bunch of beautiful tulle – all shades of pink, you name it, they had it! The inspiration hit me, what if I could create a Tutu Tuesday movement in West Bromwich, bringing back the fun and frills of fashion?
So I took my camera and my fabulous pink tulle, hit the pavement, and began spreading the word. Word travelled fast. And, in a matter of hours, a group of ladies – all decked out in tutus – gathered outside the Town Hall to take pictures and celebrate #tututuesday. We had tutus of every shape and size: pouffy, full-bodied, dramatic, simple – even a couple of ladies rocked their #discotutu which I just adore!
What’s a disco tutu, you ask? Well, it's just like it sounds – a sparkly, funky, show-stopping tutu, fit for a disco ball and perfect for a night out on the town. Mine was a custom creation (because who doesn’t love a bit of DIY, right?!), featuring glitter, feathers and of course, some fabulous pink detailing. But let’s not forget the original disco tutu trendsetter – our favourite friend the #discosnail! It’s always good for some funky flair! I’m telling you, it was the most fun I've had on a Tuesday in West Bromwich, and I have a feeling we’re going to make #tututuesday a regular thing here.
Here are a few of my favorite Tutu Tuesday highlights:
- The Mother-Daughter Duo: It was so heartwarming to see a mother and her daughter sporting their tutus, proving that dancewear isn’t just for young ladies. They showed everyone that no matter what age you are, a little sparkle and twirl is always in style.
- The Group Dance: One of my favourite moments was when a bunch of the ladies gathered in the town square, and with a little bit of music, we broke out into a impromptu tutu-clad dance-off. Pure, unadulterated joy, captured in perfect detail for social media!
- The Tutu-fied Shop Fronts: What really struck me was the creativity of the locals. Businesses in the town center got involved by adding some flair to their shop fronts. We had some tutu-dressed mannequins, some shop windows featuring elaborate tulle displays, and even some playful little tutus hanging from the doors. I felt a real sense of community coming together for the fun!
If you're looking to break the mould and bring back the fabulousness of tutu-wearing, why not try it yourself? Pick your favourite colour and let the tutu twirl work its magic. It might seem a little crazy, but trust me, it’s the most fun you can have in your dancewear!
I’ll leave you with some tips for making your own Tutu Tuesday fab.
- Pick Your Tutu Type: Whether you’re going for the classic ballerina style, the fun and fluffy disco tutu or a simple, yet chic, wrap tutu, there’s a style out there for everyone.
- Rock the Accessories: Tutus can be paired with so many amazing things. Let your imagination run wild and go with anything – from glitzy tights to a pair of killer heels to a bright coloured jacket – let your personality shine through your wardrobe!
- Strike a Pose: It’s a tutu! Let your inner ballerina out! Strike some elegant poses, play around with different styles, and have fun!
- Most Importantly – Have Fun! This is all about enjoying yourself. Remember, there’s no right or wrong way to rock a tutu.
So, if you're looking for some fun, get your tutu ready for the next Tutu Tuesday, happening here in West Bromwich. You might just see me rocking it on the streets too! See you then!
