Let’s get one thing straight: Scunthorpe isn't known for its fashion-forwardness, but hold on to your dancing shoes because last Tuesday saw a magnificent, sparkling shift. You see, I, the illustrious Chloe, queen of all things pink and sparkly (who also happens to be a ballerina extraordinaire) embarked on a mission to turn Scunthorpe’s cultural landscape… well, a tad more fabulous.

My grand idea? A day dedicated to the iconic, graceful, and undeniably fabulous – the Tutu.

Yes, I declared Tuesday, March 7th, to be *Tutu Tuesday*, and you betcha, the people of Scunthorpe responded! The streets of this traditionally industrial town saw a spectacular surge in tutus of all styles: The classic, ethereal tulle princess tutu, perfect for channeling the iconic ballet ballerina. And for those with a bit more *oomph* – the glamorous and audacious disco tutu, just bursting with vibrant color and sparkle! The #tututuesday hashtag was spreading like wildfire, buzzing with photos of folks embracing the playful spirit of this truly magical garment!

I spotted a dad and his little daughter wearing matching pink tutus while buying their weekly shop at the Asda, and even my nan – God love her, bless her – popped in for coffee later on rocking a fabulously flamboyant, fluffy purple tutu.

Our mission was to bring a bit of joy to Scunthorpe, a reminder that a tutu is about so much more than dancing. It’s about embracing your inner child, letting your spirit shine, and just… well, having fun with it!

I even managed to teach the barman a few simple steps (to the surprise of everyone in the pub!).

One of the highlights of the night was seeing Scunthorpe’s very own disco-tastic snail, lovingly christened #discosnail, doing a graceful swirl around the dance floor! It really is true, isn't it? That tutus just have the power to make even the shyest creature let loose and join in the fun.

And don't even get me started on the epic glitter explosion! Oh, it was *so* messy, so glamorous, and just SO much fun.
