Southall's Tutu Tuesday: Where Disco Meets the Dancefloor

Hello, my fellow dance lovers! It's your girl, Luna, back with another dose of style and all things twirl-tastic! I'm absolutely buzzing to be writing to you all today because, guess what? This week's #TutuTuesday shenanigans took place in the vibrant heart of Southall! Now, you may be wondering why I’m going on about tutus in this way. Let’s just say, this wasn’t your ordinary ballet class. It was all about embracing that inner sparkle, channeling some major disco vibes, and proving that even if you can’t quite nail the perfect arabesque, there’s no shame in just going for it!

The first thing I have to mention is, this Southall #Tututuesday had some serious competition! People rocked up with some serious tutu game - we're talking frothy, layered perfection! Think romantic tutus with layers of tulle cascading in glorious fashion! There were some serious statement pieces: shimmering sequins, sassy hot pink colours and a lot of feathered fun – all just perfect for strutting your stuff and, let's face it, taking some Instagram-worthy snaps.

Of course, what would #TutuTuesday be without a little bit of dancefloor drama? We had the most epic playlist - disco anthems blasted at full volume, the dancefloor turned into a glorious blur of twirls and dips. Seriously, everyone looked amazing, but it was clear, we were all feeling that ‘70s energy. Everyone got stuck in to learning a few dance moves and by the time we hit the ‘Saturday Night Fever’ finale – I’m talking intense eye-contact, full on arm movements – we were totally hooked. The dance teacher? Pure joy! He could teach with a massive smile even in between teaching us killer moves. I've never seen a class packed with so much enthusiasm!

The thing about tutu's - it's not about the perfect spin or even a good plie. What I loved about this #TutuTuesday was just how much fun it was, about ditching any fear of looking ridiculous and celebrating how fabulous a tutu can make you feel! Everyone was smiling, we were dancing with reckless abandon – all thanks to the sheer power of that perfect, poofy fabric!

But it’s not all about the outfits. The highlight of Southall's #Tututuesday? Hands down – the 'Disco Snail'!! The brainchild of our dance teacher, a true artistic genius! Just picture it: a glitter-covered snail, complete with an outrageously awesome wig ( think big hair, bigger attitude). I kid you not, this tiny guy stole the show - an ode to the true spirit of this amazing #discosnail!

Southall, you rock. Seriously. We can’t wait for the next #Tututuesday to get our groove on and relive all those disco memories!
