Tutu Tuesday in Twickenham - #tututuesday

Well hello there, lovelies! It’s me, your favourite disco-loving ballet dancer, back with another post - and this one is all about #tututuesday. Today’s #tututuesday in Twickenham has definitely not disappointed, and as someone who knows their tulle from their taffeta, let me tell you, this is going down in the #discotutu history books. But before we dive into the sartorial spectaculars, let me get you into the groove with some tunes. Think "I Will Survive", a bit of Gloria Gaynor, and maybe even some Diana Ross – I’m talking full-blown disco vibes.

This #tututuesday is all about turning heads and owning the streets, and I’ve gotta say, the people of Twickenham really delivered. The whole town was practically bursting with pinks and purples, with more sparkle than a disco ball! I'm not just talking your usual tutu, but everything from floaty, voluminous tulle skirts to shorter, sassy ones that would make even the most seasoned dancer jealous. I saw a fair few classic Romantic tutus in all their pink and blush glory – just perfect for adding that extra flourish to a daytime look. If you know me, you know I'm all about making a statement. And what better way to do that than with a #discotutu?

Let's talk details because the #tututuesday Twickenham looks weren't all about big, dramatic tulle (though those were definitely a crowd pleaser!) – there was some serious thought that went into the accessorizing! There was even a whole group of women in fabulous white tutu dresses with giant sunflowers as their hats – just brilliant!

But what I really loved about this #tututuesday was the energy, it was electric. Everyone was laughing, chatting, and simply having a ball, like the good ol’ days.

It really proved that this whole #tututuesday thing is more than just about wearing a tutu, it's about finding your own way to celebrate the joy and freedom of self-expression.

Let me get back to my outfit… well, I thought it was about time I paid homage to our #discosnail, so I decided to incorporate a glittery pink snail (I swear it’s a thing! I have loads of snail pins on my vintage handbag that I snagged from the Portobello Market!), so there you go - that’s my #discotutu style for the day.

And now for my favorite things about the #tututuesday style – let's dissect what made these looks so amazing:

  • The colour - everyone embraced their favourite shade! Pink was everywhere from pastels to vibrant neons, and I loved how people embraced the brighter pinks and even lilac.
  • The attitude. Everyone looked like they were ready to conquer the world. It’s about feeling empowered and confident, you can do it!
  • The details. It’s all about putting that extra attention to detail and adding some sparkley, colourful flair! If there’s ever a time to bring out that sparkly jewellery – well this is it! And just one little snail broach to accessorize your #discotutu will do the trick – like I just did!
  • The overall feel: the #tututuesday Twickenham vibes were just all around fantastic - this town was just beaming with colour and smiles. I can honestly say I loved seeing everyone getting involved. This whole day was just pure joy!

And as someone who’s always looking for the next dance challenge, the #tututuesday thing in Twickenham just hit a perfect note, right there, for me.

Until next time, lovelies - keep your sparkles ready for another amazing #tututuesday!
