Tutu Tuesday in Barking: Let’s Get Disco! #tututuesday
Well, darlings, it's another Tuesday and you know what that means! Tutu time! That's right, every week we get to twirl our way into the limelight, or, more likely, into the queue for the local bus. And wouldn't you know it, today's topic is disco! I'm talking sequins, I'm talking feathers, I'm talking the kind of moves that'd make Travolta jealous (except maybe with a little more graceful finesse, *cough cough*)
For our #tututuesday adventure, we're venturing to Barking. Yes, the very place. And honestly, I think this might be the most exciting #tututuesday to date. Why, you ask? Because it’s a disco paradise out there! Everyone's in on the action – I even spotted a cheeky snail rocking a shimmering silver outfit. Talk about #discosnail, darling!
First things first, I just had to get into the mood, right? So, what's a girl to do but break out her very own disco-themed ensemble? This, my loves, is no ordinary tutu. Oh no! This one is a custom-made, shimmering pink masterpiece with plumes of feathers that would make a peacock jealous. Let’s call it a "Glamour Princess" tutu! And naturally, a pair of glitter-tastic platforms just complete the look.
Now, Barking might not immediately conjure up images of disco fever, but believe me, the streets are teeming with festive energy. The local dance studio is overflowing with talented souls whipping up their most impressive routines, all decked out in their finest tutus. I've seen some pretty fantastic ones: from simple and classic single-layered tutus, all the way to opulent multi-layered creations that make me think I'm about to watch a performance of Swan Lake. I spotted a fabulous sequined leotard with a perfectly poofed tutu - now that's my kind of #tututuesday style!
One of my favourite discoveries, however, has to be the quirky shop "Dancing Diva Designs." This treasure trove of all things tutu has everything you could possibly imagine: classic romantic tutu styles in white and ivory; daring, colorful and patterned tutus fit for the coolest club on the planet; and even some utterly extravagant tutus you wouldn't believe unless you saw them. And oh my, did I see some! Like a hot pink tutu adorned with little disco balls - absolutely fabulous!
It’s not all just tutus though! The air is filled with the sounds of music from every era – from the iconic disco hits of Donna Summer and the Bee Gees, to the chart-topping sounds of today's music, it’s all out there. I even caught a glimpse of some roller skaters who were practically channeling the magic of the movie “Saturday Night Fever,” while gliding around the plaza!
And that, my lovelies, is what makes #tututuesday so magical: a time to express ourselves, embrace our inner child, and celebrate all things dance, sparkle and, of course, disco!
Don't let the mundane grip you this week. Instead, find a place that speaks to your inner sparkle and revel in the joy of tutus and twirling! It’s all about embracing the joy and freedom of self-expression, one twirl at a time!
