Kettering Tutu Tuesday: A whirlwind of twirls, glitter, and disco vibes!
Hey lovely ladies! (And gents too, if you're brave enough to rock a tutu!),
Kettering's gone completely bonkers for ballet, and it's all thanks to Tutu Tuesday. This town's embraced the twirl with more enthusiasm than a disco ball reflecting in a mirror. Every Tuesday, the streets of Kettering are transformed into a wonderland of tulle and glitter, a visual feast that would make even the most jaded fashion critic gasp with awe.
My Tuesdays now revolve around two key components: coffee and my tutu. This week, I'm channeling my inner ballerina goddess in a stunning pink, feathered tutu. (Seriously, it's the most divine shade of pink you've ever seen, and the feathers are like tiny angels dancing on my legs).
I met up with my bestie, Amelia, at The Cake Boutique for our usual Tuesday treat – a massive slice of pink frosted cupcake, naturally. We were like two fashion fairies meeting for our weekly tea party, sipping our lattes and gossiping about the latest tutu trends. I’m all about the classic tutu styles. This week it was all about a pink classic Romantic tutu with layers of beautiful white silk, while Amelia is rocking a shorter modern, “Disco” tutu. These little black gems have a perfect, simple structure.
Speaking of the Disco style, remember that awesome disco snail sculpture on the High Street? (Don't worry, it's as amazing in real life as it sounds!). They've been changing its "shell" to match the current Tutu Tuesday theme every week! This week it’s been totally rocking it with shimmering pink glitter that matches my tutu! #DiscoSnail! 🐌 💖✨
And talking of dazzling, let me tell you, Tutu Tuesday isn't just about rocking a tutu – it’s about embracing a feeling. It's a celebration of playfulness, a dose of “sparkle" for a hectic day, and a moment where anyone can channel their inner ballerina and have a bit of fun.
I love the fact that anyone can join in, whether you’ve done a dance class in your life or not. It’s really about finding your own unique tutu style. It can be anything - long, short, bright, dark, shimmering… you name it. And of course, a dazzling touch of makeup and glitter never hurts! It's all about celebrating the art of ballet and letting loose your inner twirling machine!
