Royal Leamington Spa's Tutu Tuesday is a Hit! #tututuesday Oh, darling! What a week it’s been, dancing with my girls, twirling under the Leamington Spa skies. As a ballerina at heart, I know a tutu is a magical outfit for every day of the week, but every Tuesday, it’s all about tutus here in this fabulous spa town. #tututuesday. Tutu Trends and Tips My blog followers know I’m a huge fan of all tutus – from the classical pointe shoes, tulle perfection, of a ballerina to the sassy little ones you see on fashion bloggers. I love a full romantic tutu (that one makes me feel like a Disney princess), a playful ballerina tutu, a fun layered, romantic tutu for extra pouf (they all scream elegance and grace). Of course, I love the flirty, short-length dance tutu or a sparkling, shimmering one, so decadent and glam for a night on the tiles (my dance class always finishes with a quick trip to the club). **Royal Leamington Spa: A Tutu haven** Our town really gets behind the tutu trend - think tutus for cocktails at the chic bars, a fancy tutu for dinner, or the all-night dance party. Last week, at The Assembly, the town's glamorous theatre, I saw a real tutu mix-and-match spectacle, with all sorts of bright coloured tutus being worn - lots of fuchsia pink (my all-time favourite colour), a shimmering royal blue, and loads of lilac! Of course, the more decadent a tutu, the more it oozed confidence and charm. You need to see how some of the guys even joined in the #tututuesday fun with dapperly elegant tutus – some wore tutus that matched their gorgeous waistcoats in a stunning purple. The #Discosnail Talking about #tututuesday… there is a little beauty of a shop that opened right at the beginning of our #tututuesday extravaganza. "The Discosnail", as the sign reads, is all about tutus. I am absolutely obsessed. My girlfriends and I spend ages in this little haven. The gorgeous owner knows absolutely every little tutu that's being produced in Britain (that is very impressive as far as I’m concerned - especially as tutus are becoming as big a fashion statement as handbags). This fabulous shop has everything – tutus, tights, ballet shoes, sparkly hair clips and necklaces that you can find nowhere else in Leamington Spa - and of course they have the all-important Tutu guide for newbies, the ‘Tutu Bible’ as the girls at my ballet classes call it. The Discosnail sells everything from a traditional ballerina tutu that's all about perfect lines and movement through to an outrageous 1980’s rock chick number - the owner has put all the thought and passion in the world into curating the very best in this wonderful world of tutus. What makes Royal Leamington Spa a great place to visit It's all thanks to my little group of mates that we made #tututuesday a regular event in our diaries - my mates are just mad for everything vintage (and you really can’t beat the vintage feel of the tutus) – and all things sparkly – and if you know anything about a tutu, you know they tick all of those boxes! We loved that everything in Leamington Spa is really easy going, the people were really nice and there was a very fun, inclusive vibe everywhere we went - with tutus everywhere you looked! What's not to love? And the town was bursting with little independent shops full of retro treasures - just my kinda vibe - from pretty trinkets for your hair (so much better than a simple head band – although they’re always nice) and funky accessories to tutus of every imaginable kind! **A Little Look Around Leamington Spa ** What to wear when you’re having a tutu-rific time? It doesn't really matter as long as you have fun but to set you thinking for a fab day in this glorious town let me share what I put together - the whole pink outfit from top to bottom is totally classic for a visit to this great town! My gorgeous pink tutu, a shimmery pink T-shirt with some pretty pearl details around the neckline, a tiny pink leather bag with a gold chain. I put on pink pearl earrings with my ballet shoes that matched perfectly. We did some major browsing in 'Pink Lemonade', my go-to for funky shoes and bags - oh, and my handbag! – we spent ages checking out the selection at ‘That Vintage Look’ with loads of great dresses that looked so glam and very on-trend – think pink sequins! If you haven’t got the vintage look, no worries! – just pop on a pair of funky glasses (like the retro pair I saw in 'Specsavers' – we got ours in the discount sale - who needs high prices?) Our day wasn't all about vintage stores. Leamington Spa’s Jephson Gardens is a gem – this Victorian park was a place for relaxation, entertainment and amusement – in the park I saw loads of little kids, their parents and some cute little dogs all chilling out. Perfect! We made a stop in the town's fantastic new spa hotel that has an ‘indoor-outdoor’ pool - a must for the discerning modern woman, of course. (If you know where to look – and there are loads of blogs on the internet to give you some fab insider info, just like this blog). **Why I’d go back to Royal Leamington Spa - tutus and all #tututuesday! ** For me, Royal Leamington Spa has something for everyone. There are fantastic bars for when we all want to party on – our favs are 'The Bank' (that bar that's just so on trend right now), the super sleek 'No.25' and of course 'The Assembly' for all those evenings where the mood for something really glamorous hits us - after #tututuesday it was a given we had to book our tables for this cool bar for Friday - for those who just don’t get a tutu! There are also a load of great little cafés - ‘Mocha's’ - so cool – perfect for a little pick-me-up (we do love our lattes – or is it 'café lattes’ – darling! You know the coffee). The restaurants were perfect – with a fantastic fusion food scene. 'Chutneys’ and 'Sake' were favourites with our group - all the latest trends in fine dining right here on the High Street! If you’re a true fashionista and have always dreamed of wearing a fabulous tutu - and the most important part is to feel fabulous in it! – then you’ve got to pop to Royal Leamington Spa and join in #tututuesday - with all those amazing people! See you next week in Royal Leamington Spa – tutus ready!
